First of I would like to say all my respect and rest in peace Bob Marley.
Anyway I thought with all the negativity we read about around the world and in the forums, perhaps we should have a break and gather our thoughts in
perspective. I'm mixed race living in UK, my dad is from the Caribbean and as such I learned to appreciate Marley since I was young and he in my mind
is one of the greatest musicians to have lived. The older I grow the more his music speaks to me, the more relevant it also becomes. Yet it brings a
profound inner peace, music that is timeless and can never get old. Anyway I guess for those interested in his music share your favourite songs with
YouTube links or something?
I love all of his songs but I believe this song is particularly relevant to today metaphorically ofcourse…
Thank you for the reminder. I have to agree that he is one of the best musicians ever! I have several of his CDs that I haven't listened to in
a while... I'm off to dig them out!
No problem, CD's are much better than Youtube of-course so I suggest anyone who doesnt already own his music to get his tracks in the best quality
possible. You have to turn it up, especially the bass and let time you're inner soul have its meditation.
I am quarter Jamaican, my dad was half Jamaican so I too got shown this audible gold at an early age! Long live Bob Marley easily one of the best
musicians to ever live!
Here is one of my favourite all time songs.
Natural Mystic is another beautiful song and listen to the lyrics.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air;
If you listen carefully now you will hear.
This could be the first trumpet, might as well be the last:
Many more will have to suffer,
Many more will have to die - don't ask me why.
Things are not the way they used to be,
I won't tell no lie;
One and all have to face reality now.
'Though I've tried to find the answer to all the questions they ask.
'Though I know it's impossible to go livin' through the past -
Don't tell no lie.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air -
Can't keep them down -
If you listen carefully now you will hear.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air.
This could be the first trumpet, might as well be the last:
Many more will have to suffer,
Many more will have to die - don't ask me why.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air -
I won't tell no lie;
If you listen carefully now you will hear:
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air.
Such a natural mystic blowing through the air;
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air;
Such a natural mystic blowing through the air;
Such a natural mystic blowing through the air;
Such a natural mystic blowing through the air.
I just recently was really exposed to reggae music. I've heard songs casually but I couldn't name a song or really any singer except for Marley if
my life depended on it. I bought X-Clan's 'Return From Mecca' cd and they did a song with Damien Marley which was more like reggae/rap instead of
the more traditional reggae. When Marley's verse came on I was just mesmerized. This has caused me to look up more artists and I'm happy to say that
I've discovered an entire genre of music that a few years ago I might not have given a second thought to.
