had my eyes on visiting this for a few years since i found out by a worker about the underground bunker there

and it was a very imresive place underground when i visited with everything needed in the event of a nuclear attack.

but now up for sale and at a pretty impressive price compared to how much a 3 bedroom house costs these days.
oh how i wish i had £290000
anyone wanna chip in fot it lol

That looks like a bargain to me, it would make a cracking house!

Apparently the building is only 20 years old, I wonder what it cost to build it in the first place?

maybe a group of 'preppers' and 'survivalists' should get together and buy it? I don't mind having just a holding cell....probably all I could afford for me and the kids!

Having said that, did anyone notice the 'legalities' in the article? All council buildings before 1994 (I think) had to have nukke shelters........find one in your area when SHTF for free!

Found it on google maps : Former Magistrates Court

Its a heck of a building for only 290k. Could begin turning it into a palace if 2013 comes and we all still alive. Not a bad investment. How high above sea level is Tonypandy? Looks like its an a valley of some sort with mountains to front and rear. Not a bad spot to set up camp. If it escapes the tsunami's then this is a great investment which ever way you look at it.

Doubt anyone is genuine but I will put myself forward as a definate Equall investor,

Il match what anyone or everyone puts in, 10k each for 29 people or 29k for 10 people, If nothing else we can get ourselves a work project for a few years turning it into either offices or some kind of palace, (Brothel, Casino) if we manage to survive the armagedon. It sure looks a nice place, probably needs a jack load of work, electrical, plumbing all sorts, but as I say, a nice little project that could turn into mega bucks in future years.

Count me in

assuming the shtf, then all you'd need is a mortgage for now, after it all happens i doubt anybody will be chasing for mortgage payments!

and hiya.. newbie registered, been lurking for years,..in cardiff... i don't have the kind of cash it takes to join in with buying it outright, but i could come up with a deposit contribution if it came to it.

and for anybody who is stocking up, i found approvedfood.co.uk and foodbargains.co.uk .. not everything is cheap as chips, but some of the staples are so seriously reduced that it's worth having a look if you're stockpiling

how about building a nuclear bunker. it must be cheeper than buying that place.

first we need some land (at least 10 miles from probable target), digging equipment and man power.
then the materials for cunstruction of walls roofing and supports. id say reinforced concrete with steel supports.
ventilation is a must.

then the gear.
wind up radio, light sticks, geiger counter, medical kits and nuclear emergency kit. (especially potasium iodide tablets)

then the supplies.
canned non perishibles, dry cereals, potatoes. i'd recomend plenty of army ration packs.
about 1 or 2 gallons of water per person per day. (may have to stay in shelter for some time so thats a lot of water.) plenty of non prescription drugs such as paracetemol, laxatives, eye wash, rubbing alchohol.

theres plenty more i'd have in my shelter but i think making this shelter would be cheaper and hopefully more ideally located.
mabye after its safe to exit the bunker our 2 groups could form a raiding party and take over wales.

i'd be up for that if i thought it could be done in time, and it's near enough for me to get to regularly... fact is that the uk seems to be fairly apathetic with regard this potential forthcoming disaster
