The ISRO has said that India has finally been invited to partner in the gigantic global effort - the International Space Station (ISS). In an exclusive interview to NDTV's Pallava Bagla, ISRO Chairman Dr K Radhakrishnan confirmed that India would initially be contributing instruments but, as of now, there were no plans to send Indians to the space station. India will be the sixth nation to join this 100 billion dollar effort.

Shouldn't the title be India, (with Financial aid from the UK) to join the International Space Station....

Sory but I had to add this comment as I still struggle to see why we have to give financial aid to such a booming economy ??

Financial aid from U.K ? lolz ......................

Consider it for payment for the billions of Dollars and the millions of lives you killed in India, as for the aid, India has already told U.K it does not need the aid if your still wondering go ask your own govt.

Make no mistake. The west needs India to bail out its costly space industry. The U.S space shuttle has taken the last journey to space just a few days back. After this the U.S does not have a way to get to the ISS. Now the only guys left who can go to the ISS seem to be the Russians. So the West needs some other country to finance the running of the space missons.

As for the aid from U.K, yeah it seems out of place given the current economic scenario. But as the other guy said, U.K owes a lot to India anyway.
