Oh good choice Flanged Mace of a Flail both would be extremely effective only down side is range.

the only reason i prefer firearms first and primitive weapons second is becuase if im facing 5 or more, those weapons will take alot of energy out of yo0u. I can take down 100+ without expending much energy in a short amount of time when using a firearm

Glock 23 only comes in .40. You can get an HK UMP in that caliber as well (trying to help you stay alive....)

You people know that zombies are not real right? You're discussing effective ways to kill human beings. I can't believe what's allowed to be posted and what gets deleted by the mods. This place is ridiculous.

Maybe you would like it better if we discussed using bleach, painting our bathrooms, and installing stronger fans to get rid of mold. ATS means different things to different people. Give it a rest - you don't have to attack every thread....

well if I can go all out here, i'm going with

primary: lee-enfield .303 extended mag. w/scope or an M4-Carbine/MP5

secondary: tec-9 with a 32 round magazine or an Mp-40

I'll buy the mace but a flail is really hard to use correctly and was often a specialists weapon that took years to master while a mace is a glorified club. Easy to use and accurate.


The flail requires constant motion and therefore a lot of space to use. Plus the unskilled are a real danger to themselves and others in the area.

I am certainly no medieveal weapons expert but my BA is in history (concentration Medieval Europe) and my MA is in Military history. I have used some of the period weapons for immersion purposes and if I had to pick one that based on my modern combat training and that would not make me look like a toatal douche I'd go with the mace or war hammer (not the silly Thor 20 pounder kind the real one) for close work, a spear or half-pike for long work and the crossbow for ranged.

Be interesting to see what would happen if whatever made the Z's also affected gunpowder and fire making us go back to the swashbuckling days of yore. Wonder who'd have it and who wouldn't.

in this fictional scenario my weapons would be my teeth and nails, brains are tasty.

i mean theres millions of you wanting to play rambo on resident evil, who the hell is gonna be the zombies.

those actually considering this scenario will probably be the zombies.

you all play hero, im on the zombies side

now brains or GTFO

I could see that a person whacking themselves in the back of the head kinda like nun-chucks. If we were forced to revert to no firepower I would have to say only the really strong would survive it is a lot different killing up close than from a distance even if it is zombies (I would guess anyway not that I have killed anything but game animals, and a couple farm animals, to eat of course)

Zombie Movies and books are a genre that is not for everyone but it seems for those who enjoy it (of which I am one) they are a dedicated following.

I read any Zombie novel that pops up on Amazon for the kindle - some really good reads out there even in the self published realm for .99 - 2.99. I am rarely disappointed, they are literally brain candy - fast easy reads for bedtime that are usually full of ironic and dark humor and sometimes, just sometimes good characters that you can care about.

As for the threads on WWYD in a Zombie world - they are just a simple brain exercise in survival preparation sort of a walkthrough for you plans and that always helps.

Don't be a hater - then again I guess haters are going to hate!

I only need a .22, crossbow, and two, three machete, some alarm clocks and flares to distract them long enough for me to run, hide, resupply, and live to see tomorrow.

All you really need is a couple of good 22's. Say, with a dedicated 22 AR-15 upper, with say a Ruger semi-auto 22 pistol.

You can just about kill any creature with a 22lr, just by shooting the zombies eyes out; and that poor S.O.B. is yours!!!

Though, I'm leaning towards a good 12 inch battle blade, along with a 9mm, 34 round, Sterling semi auto carbine, [which is my car rifle.] Plus, my Springfieid 1911 semi auto pistol in 9mm.
