I died in a 10.3 EQ today.

According to the Global Incident Map which is fed from the USGS, I am typing this from the great beyond.

I don't really feel dead tho! I woke up, made my morning coffee, opened my lap top, went to check the EQ's for last night and then I pooped...a little

After checking the info a second time, I have put 2 and 2 together.

This apparently happened in my backyard and it's still showing up on the site.

A -.03 is not something I've seen before so by my logic, it must be a 10.03 and there was just a computer glitch in showing anything over a 10.0...kinda like a Y2K thing.

Since this is a feed from the USGS, it must be true right?

Anyway, I just wanted to say so long and it's been great knowing so many of you.

If I get any answers to all of the conspiracies on Earth while I'm in the great beyond, I'll figure out a way to get them to you guys.

surely if a quake that big struck off the coast ther wudnt brits be getting hit by a tsunami by now and new york be under god no how many meters of water????

Just checked the USGS and it is showing no signs of this.. Glitch?
Also the depth is being shown as 0km.. maybe something hit the sensor or something

On global incidents map i have -0.3...it's a bug i think.

The way I see it is that Global Incidents doesn't program past 10.0 so it must have been a 10.3...kinda like a Y2K thing I guess.

If you zoom in it shows the quake up on the border of maine and canada.

Its a glitch, usgs isnt perfect. IRIS and RSOE do not report it, eathquakes canada also does not report it.

I think we're good.

Also, they named us the canadian 'shield' for a reason, this half of the country is pretty much all granite and bedrock as opposed to the weak shale.

I saw the same thing on my computer screen when I sat down with my coffee - I almost did something in my pants as well. I was like WTF?!?!? I don't know how to take a snap shot. All I know is I was hoping I was not the only one who was seeing it, and apparently I am not.

Thats a really good question. I wouldn't assume so, a quake that big is virtually unheard of i think. I could be wrong, probably am. But of all places for a massive quake, i think canada is the least likely place =P.
