Before I delve into the main points of this, you are by many standards committing slander by quoting a statement, however witty you may think it to be, not made by Michelle Bachmann,. This isn't to say I agree with her statement nor her beliefs, but rather an attempt to bring some integrity back to ATS during the pre-campaign cycle.

I need to know how pornography is going to be defined. It is just images or do writings count? This is going to be kind of important as I flip through this book full of graphic sex, incest, rape, and child abuse called the Bible.

This tells me she is not only "in bed" with the moral police crowd, but that she cannot concentrate on real issues. I am not sure what you are really trying to say. I picked the Bible because it is her specific holy book and I am curious if her specific definition of pornography would manage to cause her holy book to be banned. I capitalize it because it is a proper noun. I never said anything about God or god so I am not sure what you are addressing with that. I asked a specific question that applies specifically to Michele and what she has said. Since you cannot answer for her I will thank you to take you odd argument about which God she wants me to think about somewhere else.

Totally agreed. We need to stop defining things as "pornographic" in the first place. We all have genitals, who cares? Its best to stay out of peoples sex lives plain and simply - especilly when it comes to the law. The Bible talks about genitals because its a part of life. I think Michelke Buchanan needs tgo grow up just a little bit.

I don't agree with her statement or pledge...

However she just got the interest and potential vote of the "silent majority"...a lot of people are looking for old fashioned ideals...They gave Obama a chance and were disappointed.

It will be more than a few elections where the American electorate takes another chance on a candidate that is vibrant and outside the box. When people are distressed they want comfort food...likewise Americans want comfort....they want 1950s USA back.

All of the folks that criticize her here...do you vote? Will you vote next time? Who will you vote for?

Again, I am not for M Bachmann...but a lot of people I run into and know and interact with are looking for someone that portrays the ideals she espouses.

I've experienced the pre-porn history in South Africa before 1994.
We still had illegal porn, it was just very bad quality.
I remember that people's houses got raided by the police for having a porn tape.
But, we still found erotica and stuff.
I like modern porn, but I can't say it's done anything special. Maybe a bit more variety and enhancement, but it never created anything that wasn't there.

They can never ban men.
As long as there are men, there will always be porn for me.

Politicians should not be signing on to ANY pledge the only pledge they need is to up hold the constitution of FWIW the pledge Bachman made violates the constitution at several points -- so she would be going into this violating the constitution. What nobody wants to admit anymore is that the Bible was also used to defend apartheid and laws against interracial sex.
In 1985 SA repealed the Immorality Act, which meant that people could have sex across the color line.
So up to 1985 you could be raided and arrested for having a lover of another race in SA.

The only reason that group is influential is because nobody else cares. Politics here is about as dead as a corpse in Iowa. Politics in Iowa is as far away from the general public as DC is as far away. Bachman along with other politicians act like sharks in the water with money being their blood call.
