Syria says US 'interfering' as ambassador visits Hama

www.bbc.co.uk

Syria has accused the US of "interfering" in its affairs after the US ambassador to the country travelled to the flashpoint city of Hama.

The Syrian foreign ministry said the visit by Robert Ford was "obvious proof" of US involvement in continuing protests in the country.

Earlier, the US State Department said Mr Ford's visit was to show solidarity with protesters.

I can't say that I'm surprised. It seems they're involved in protests in another muslim country where they want to get their foot in the door.

US ambassador Robert Ford visits Syria without permission on the eve of expected fresh new protests. The US says the visit is to show solidarity with the protesters which the Syrians are saying is obvious proof they're involved in the protests.

Washington has warned President Assad that he is running out of time to reform but has yet to call on him to step down.

It smells like Libya all over again.
