I have figured that, if they had ever existed, that the 'illuminati' bit is supposed to mean something like 'the enlightened ones', and that they might in fact be associated with the scientific 'Age of Enlightenment', when classical knowlege was regained and reformulated in terms of 'modern' scientific philosophy. Am I correct in thinking this?
You are some kind of smart, let me tell you. You are quite correct in feeling that the Illuminati shared many ideals with the Enlightenment. My best advice for you, O wise and kind Nygdan, would be to look at this link. You will no doubt find it (pardon the pun) enlightening.
