Surgeons carry out first synthetic windpipe transplant

BBC Scientists in London created an artificial windpipe which was then coated in stem cells from the patient. Crucially, the technique does not need a donor, and there is no risk of the organ being rejected. The surgeons stress a windpipe can also be made within days. The 36-year-old cancer patient is doing well a month after the operation.

You're super rich. Your heart starts failing.
No worries, here is a new heart.

Your kidneys give up.
No worries, we'll sort that right out.

With other advances in anti-aging technology it looks like immortality may become a reality in the near future.

Long live the tyrants.

They already have it. Dont let their stories fool anyone. This is very old technology that we are just now seeing. Just look at the black op programs if you think this is something really cutting edge.

....perfect example of misinformation. Clearly, you ARE one of the elite. How many organs have been in you replaced? I bet you wanna medicate us because we're "paranoid" and "psychopathic" don't you?

/sarcasm

I thought they've been doing this type of organ growth and transplantation for some time now... ???? I saw a documentary about it....

You caught me, Devo! I'm hoarding all the stem cell-grown organs for myself...mwahaha!

And yes, they've been working with these organs for some time, creating things like skin, ears, and noses for transplant. I'm not sure about internal organs, though. it's a wonderful step in a new direction for medicine! =)
