Casey Anthony Guilty of... lying... watching live The trial

My take on this: It is the prosecutors' fault.

I believe she is guilty. I'm not sure of what, but I still believe she is guilty. But the prosecutor blew it. They could not prove the case with the standards in place. The jury wasn't stupid. You had twelve people of varying backgrounds, some quite well educated, who came to a unanimous decision. Given their instructions by the Judge on what they had to prove, they lacked sufficient evidence to do so.

Meanwhile the prosecutor threatened the death penalty. They said that if convicted they would go after it. THAT was a major mistake. They shouldn't have said a thing until the "penalty" phase of the trial began; now it won't.

Second, they were extremely arrogant toward the defense, particularly the defense attorney. They laughed at him openly. They made fun of him. They tried to portray him as an inexperienced yokel. Guess who's laughing now? He rolled with the punches, turned it around, and skewered the prosecution by punching his own holes in their theory.

Third, the prosecutor went way out on a limb with the "decomposition smell" approach, something never used before to prove anything, but they felt so confident that they could do nearly anything with no consequences.

Fourth, they never should have gone after first degree murder. They simply did not have the evidence to prove it one way or another.

I think Caylee is despicable in many ways. She was obviously a completely inept mother. It's just that the prosecutor was more inept than she was.

...yep and there are also those who see the same possibilities that we see but they're going to deny it because it hits too close to home and they cant or havent yet dealt with it - or - they too are an abusive parent who'll never give credence to the damage they do...

...also, theres a statute of limitations on criminal charges for incest and, sometimes, the DA isnt interested in pursuing that avenue... so, then you're left with a civil suit, which costs lots of money and theres no guarantee that you'll win... if the incestuous parent has a good standing in the community and/or has money/power, many in society will say that you're just after the money...

...and, in keeping with the thread's topic - i dont know for sure that george anthony is an incestuous parent or grandparent or that he murdered his granddaughter and set up his daughter to take the fall - but - his behavior over the past few years sure seems to fit the profile of such a coward - and - casey's mother's behavior sure seems to fit the profile of a narcississtic domineering wife of such a coward...

Only reason she is not guilty is because they couldnt "prove" she did it, but we all damn well know she had a hand in it if she didnt do it herself. Here in a couple months or so it will be all over the news she was shot and killed

I'm betting that doesn't happen, but it's possible. there are a lot of sick, diseased minds out there who feel they have some sort of right to be judge, jury, and executioner all by themselves. There is likely at least one individual I can think of who knows how to handle a gun, and may feel he has a vested interest in "silencing" her.

All evidence shows this narcissistic girl killed her daughter, didnt care for it emotionally, and even her weeping when she found out she was not guilty was for her own happiness. It brought the freedom and self joy she cared about.

I quite frankly have thought from the beginning of this case that this woman is so out of it psychologically that she doesn't know the reality of anything. And all the drugs she's probably used over the years hasn't helped that, either. I don't think Casey has had much grasp on reality at all.

That family is not ruined from this. The family was so dysfunctional that it was ruined all along. Now, everyone just knows about it.

I really hope she uses this somewhat of a second chance at life to get herself some help and start over, away from her toxic family. She definitely isn't all there. She was living a very destructive lifestyle. Hopefully, she'll take this wake up call and make some changes in her life while she still has one.

As someone who has lost my child, that kind of pain is something that stays there forever. You can never replace your baby. All hope dies when you lose your child.

A lot of people who live destructive lifestyles as she has are really trying to run away from something that they haven't been able to cope with. I see her as a young woman filled with terrible emotional pain that she does not know how to face or deal with, so she drinks and uses drugs to try and make it all go away.

Now that much of society sees her as a child killer though, she will have a very hard time finding the help she so desperately needs. She might not have even killed her. She might not even know if she killed her or not.

Caylee was probably the only one who genuinely loved Casey her entire life.

Her family is toxic. She needs to get away from them.

I wonder if she'll vow to search for the real killer. I wonder how OJ is doing with HIS search.

I am glad to say I never heard a word about this trial until it just ended. Not something I would want to waste my time and energy on.

Im not aware of this "drowning in the pool"..

Im only somewhat up to date, from what i read at wikipedia in the "evidence" section.

The evidence seems pretty stacked against her.

The fact that HER OWN PARENTS think she is guilty, and the fact that she failed to even report her own daughter missing for over 30 days...Come on...what rationale is there? Does this not atleast qualify as criminal negligence?

I havent cared in the least bit for this trial, but the backlash got me interested. Now that i know the basics of it all, i can see why people are upset.

The evidence against her makes her look like a TEXTBOOK narcissist/sociopath. Such people do not think normally. Its as if they have no social insecurity, no social conscience (i know someone like this) and only through immitation of others are they able to approximate the appearance of empathy.

Its hard to explain. Her diary entry seems to put a great deal of emphasis on her own happiness - and this entry comes just 6 days after her daughters death. Who knows? Maybe her daughters presence in her life was considered by her as an impediment to her own personal happiness. At her age - 22 - she probably felt constrained by being a single mother. She had a GREAT DEAL of motive, for atleast a girl without any shame or principles, beyond her own personal happiness.

So...its obvious. She is a sociopathic/narcissist who killed her own baby.

She should be thrown in jail and left there till she dies.

If this were a NORMAL court, even the lack of direct evidence wouldnt be enough to counter the 30 day delay between her reporting her daughter missing. Imagine. Any true mother could NEVER in a million years act the way she did. She on the contrary has even caused her parents to disown her; feeding them stories and lies about her daughters whereabouts...

No, we have two lawyers in the family and they both began in criminal law...............defense gets to cherry pick the jury and they go through and pick out the ones they pretty much know will sympathize and not condemn the defendant.

So you wind up with 12 jurors that are stupid, unknowing and willing to forgive someone who did not report her daughter missing for a whole month...............mine were missing at 3 & 4 years of age for for three minutes after answering the phone (they were outside in a fenced in locked back yard). I came right out, less than 3 minutes on the phone, told my friend, "Sorry kids are outside alone, got to go bye"...........went back outside and the two oldest were gone.

I called them, looked around, didn't have a car, called the police immediately and they found them just turning the corner of our street...............I didn't wait no 30 days, I didn't party - I was hysterical and had the entire Carpentersville Police Force out there within five minutes of not seeing my two sons (now 34 & 35).

Their story changed from drowning in a pool to nanny kidnapping - and they made damn sure to submerge the body long enough in a swamp (dirty water) to make sure it decomposed and no trace of what really happened was erased.

Also as stated before, Cindy Anthony, Casey's mother completely washed the inside of the entire car (including trunk) so she tampered with the evidence.

Lastly, how many people do you know that actually have a bottle of chloroform sitting around............chloroform will knock a person out in seconds and with a baby.

I had three sons, one is ADHD and could and did often go without sleep for 2-3 days and I would never have thought of doing anything like that to him.............EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My opinion, and I really don't care what the lot of you say back to me.

Casey, her mother and her father - it may have started out a little too hard of a slap that got out of hand and ended up tradgic..............but and heres something else to ponder, at 2 going on 3 Caylee was just at that age where a toddler can begin to tell people what is going on...............and that might not have been so good.

Either way, someone parties and has Bella Vita tattooed on them while their baby is missing is a moron, a jerk, a can't say the word here on ATS or I'll be sent to the principal's office but it's a part of our anatomy the sun doesn't usually see ------------ and justice was not served.

Caylee had her cute little mouth duck taped and not by a stranger.

I've read the transcripes because I'm almost deaf.

I've watched very closely Casey's smug, smiling face.....................not the face of a mother whose baby has met such a gruesome end.

Not unless you are clinically a narcissistic psychopathic liar - which in my mind her, her father and mother all are.

Lady Justice had duct tape over her eyes on this case.

Watch the tapes................watch Casey's body language closely, she didn't care, when she did cry it was for show.

I normally am peaceful, loving, sunshine and rainbows but boy, I could pull the lever on this one gal.

Caylee was a little tiny innocent victim..................and her own mother, the one who gave her life took it from her and duct taped her mouth.

Her maternal grand parents covered for Casey.

Make you a bet....................they were going to divorce a few years back (2005 I think), they almost lost their house in March of 2010................bet they make a book and movie deal and get rich and famous.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh only in America.

Anyone thinking Casey is innocent, fine be her best buddy, even marry the %itch, but watch your back and make sure you have a big insurance policy on any kids you have with her because she will kill again I am sure.

Another good book to read to figure out the psyche of such a personality is "Political Ponerology by Andrew M. Lobaczewski. He describes the mindset of Casey Anthony to a tee.

Hitler had emotional problems as well. Does this mean we should excuse him of his sins?

I myself was abused BRUTALLY during my highschool years. Does this mean that i should be excused if i were to kill those who tormented me??

Anyone who kills in the 1st degree is insane. There is some level of 'insanity' going on in their head.

This is why we created jails. emotional problems or not, having been abused or not, dangerous people are put there. She committed an unforgiveable crime by murdering her daughter. If she wants forgiveness, let her seek it from G-d, and let her make up for whatever divine retribution here by serving her time.

Look...I understand kind of, that the jury could not find her guilty of the three major offenses. There was no murder weapon, no cause or time of death. But at the very least, she should have been found guilty of child neglect/abuse. There is no way anyone can tell me that if you don't report your two-year old child missing after 31 days...you are guilty of something, and trying to cover it up. I beleive that is why she tried to wait as long as possible before confronting her mother. The longer that little girls body lay in the elements, the more decomposing that could be done, hence any kind of dna evidence that she would have left behind was now erased forever. Watch out Casey, here comes the karma train

The defense used it in their opening statement, along with her father and brother being accused of molesting her when she was young.

People, things like this happen every day to thousands of babies. why has this case gone so far and not be done and over with like all the others?
In my area, there is currently an escaped rapist going around TOUCHING little boys and girls. this will never gain the attention that the Casey Anthony cas has. Haven't you people noticed that the Mainstream media has been dragging this on and on ant drawing attention to it? Dont get me wrong, i thing she is completely guilty, but that is not the point. The point is that the Media is using this case as a diversion to whats happening to the world at the moment. Notice that the Muslim uprisings arent being talked about on the media at the moment. Either is the Missouri and Mississippi River record-breaking floods. not to mention the EXTREMELY unstable condition our country is in. Minnesota is about to shut down it's Governmental system, America's dollar isn't strong enough to support the actual paper money/coins. Do I need to continue? The Casey Anthony case shouldn't have ever gone this far. I just hope the rest of you can also see through the smokescreen that the Media is blowing into our faces.

You people need to open your eyes. Wake up and see the freakin' dasies, people.

Good points Silva...This always happens with the media. They report on the crap that just does not matter, as a smoke screen to the sinister things going on in the world. This will always be the case

Back when their was no forensic science nor a witness jurors had to use common sense to decide a verdict.

Fact is innocent people don't tell lie after lie to the cops. Loving mothers do not go 31 days to turn a child in missing and only after the grandmother makes them.



Scott Peterson got convicted on about the same amount of evidence yet I hear no Casey Supporters asking anyone to free him.. Why? Because he is man? Hmmmm

The accident theory just does not make a damn bit of sense. The drowning theory is just border line absurd. First why would you risk getting a murder charge and death by making a accident look like a murder? Makes no logical sense in any way, shape, or form.

Second why did casey say Surprise Surprise when her mom said the media said it was a drowning?


I was always taught someone who lies has something to hide. Most liars still would tell the truth if their Kid disappeared... Not telling about a missing kid just shows she didnt care. Look at some of the instant messages her and Tony had. Tony asked about the offspring sitter and Casey called Caylee The Kid and Snothead.

I do not know how anyone can condone this type of behavior of a mother or claim a mother loves their kid and doesn't turn them in missing. Susan Smith and Diane Dowens had pics of them being nice and acting caring toward their kids yet they still murdered them.. Of course a person is not gonna be abusive to a kid in front of others.

I can respect the jurors verdict but they should have gotten her on a lessor charge so she couldn't profit from this.
Manslaughter, child neglect or something!! Now she is most likely gonna get a book deal, interview fees etc etc when more than likely she is guilty.

Plus I have a suspicion if this had been a male on trail he would be under the prison right now.

Also just being not guilty doesn't prove innocence and anyone who thinks Casey had nothing at all or knows nothing at all about her dead child im calling you a idiot and would to your face as well.

Casey screwed around so much they don't even know who the father is.

One of her "relationships" was with a (since fired) sheriff of Orange County, FL..............hmmmmmmmmm

And her father is an ex cop so you have a psychopath that knows how to cover and tamper with evidence.

And yes connections in law enforcement help.

It is who you know.

My son was stopped one day for speeding and the police officer asked him if he was related to one of the well known lawyers in our family.............my son said, "yes that's my uncle".

The cop said, "I don't want any trouble, please just never speed right around here again".

My son should have gotten a ticket, if it had been any one of you that didn't have good old Uncle X you would have gotten a ticket.

My son was shocked at how he got out of a ticket because of who he was related too.

I told him, don't ever speed again, consider yourself lucky.

The law should apply to everyone equally, but it doesn't.

And Casey had connections via her father and who knows who else the little tramp slept with..........she was very promiscuous.

Women have changed.

I was a party girl, but once I got married and had babies, mainly once I had babies I wanted to be a mother my boys could be proud of, someone they could emulate.

On the transcripts one girlfriend said that Casey many times brought Caylee along and she would mysteriously sleep through the whole party scene...........pills / chloroform.

Even Casey's mother says she was not a good mother.

Ya gonna have kids than damn it do right by them, love them, be with them, show them how a decent good human being is suppose to act.

Don't ignore them, act like a tramp in front of them...........................once you decide to have a child, the wild parties are over.

So, if you want a party life.........................don't have children or get a really good babysitter/nanny.

I am not old fashioned, I'm what is known as a decent human being and a damn good mother.

My son was wild as wild as they come until he had his daughter.................and that night he looked at me and said, "Well mom, you're right, she's really quite something isn't she!!! My days of being a bad boy are over, she needs a good Papa to look out for her."

If you kill your child, duct tape her little mouth, didn't report it for a whole friggin month and threw her in a swamp.......................you better pray long and hard I'm not one of the jurors cause I would not have budged on the death penalty - 1st degree, even if I had to sit in that juror room for the rest of my life.

I know first hand what going through that kind of %hit does to someone.

But, I didn't continue the cycle - I didn't let it warp me, I chose my husband wisely with a lot of forethought and we raised three very good men.

No child should be abused and it's clear Casey "went too far" and her mother and father covered up for her.

Her father being a ex cop knew the ropes and knew if they threw Caylee's little body in a swamp that given a few weeks, all traces of what really happened would be so far gone that no conviction would be possible.

They out foxed the system.................wasn't a stranger that kidnapped her, it was her own flesh and blood that killed and hid her and while she lay decomposing Casey partied on and had "Beautiful Life" tattooed on her left shoulder.............don't keep me going on this one.

I am a defender of those that have no voice and no say because I've been there and know the hell Caylee went through.

Videos and pictures of happy wappy mommy hiding what really happened.

By putting her body in a swamp..............very ingenious way to cover 1) chemicals in her bloodstream 2) sexual molestation and 3) actual cause of death

Very smart those Anthony's ........................ they got away with murder most foul.
