ATS Chat Voyeur

I've just hit 250+ posts recently, & read somewhere that 250 posts enables you to use the chatbox.

Only...it's not working for me (and judging from other related threads, quite a few people are unable to go on it)?!

Once I click the button, "chat voyeur", a pop-out window chat box opens...Followed by 3 green "Welcome" messages. I can see people conversating, so it's not a problem of having a blank grey chat-screen...The problem is being unable to actually type anything! So all I'm doing is watching other people in the chat...

I use Google Chrome, but also tried IE & Firefox.

I just downloaded latest Adobe Flash.

I used Ccleaner to clear my cookies & cashe.

I tried constantly bashing "F5".

I tried to troubleshoot the problem using "search", only to be greeted with the same, related threads, which I read through already, but didn't offer any additional help...

So all I'm doing is watching other people in the chat...Everything is working fine, apart from the fact that I CAN'T ACTUALLY CHAT MYSELF Argh!

hmmm..interesting...have you messaged any mods to get some advice?

I have never been able to get into Chat

A good idea...Everything else seems to be failing.

Click on CHAT^ top right corner next to log out and search

For me sometimes it doesnt load or takes a long time to load... But I rarely enter it anyways

dont use the ribbon

Also... Im pretty sure its 200 posts for chat

what is this "chat voyeur", ??

I understand there are sometimes issues with FireFox, but I got right into chat just now, as well as chat voyeur.

I've been told that if you have trouble with regular CHAT in FF, you cana try refreshing the page, it will sometimes let you in

If you use the ribbon bar, it can let you check out whats going on in the chat room... you dont need the 200 posts to see whats being said, only to contribute...

The real chat(200+ posts needed), is in the top right corner of the website, labeled CHAT^ between TOOLS+ and SEARCH

Ok, I've found the solution (thanks to Gabby for pushing me in the direction, & DontTreadOnMe for explaining)

"Chat Voyeur" (opened by clicking the ribbon) is different to the actual "Chat" (top right...something I always fail to notice), as "Chat Voyeur" is an anonymous feature...

I'm not sure the 250 post count is accurate. Before this post, which is my 250th, I had 249, obviously. I decided to see if it would let me in to chat. I didn't know it existed before this thread by the way. Anyway, it let me in to the chatroom, and let me post. I don't know if you are referring to the same chat, because I don't know if there are different rooms, but I thought I would share my experience with everyone.

When I click chat a plain grey box appears.

Whats ups with that?
