One thing I have seen no mention of,forgive me if I did miss it,is that once you get in line, you are detained since you cant drop out and go back...once forcibly detained your rights kick in so you are no longer voluntarily being searched....and then, why not just take 2 viagras and demand a pat down?

So then not sexual abuse. nobody is forcing anything.

Really? I'm sure everyone who has had this "enhanced" pat down would disagree with you. No one has agreed to let the TSA touch their genitals. I would say giving me the ultimatum of being touched or not flying is forcing someone.

So what you're saying then is having your genitals touched by a stranger is less important than flying to you

So what you are saying is I can walk up to you on the street and grab your junk. You do not have to walk, and even if you did, it does not have to be down that street.

You are a volunteer to anything they want to do when you buy your ticket and get your boarding pass...something that hasnt been challegened in court yet is when do you become a "non-volunteer"?..there is a point that they forbid you to go back from...a "point of no return" and then you SHOULD be able to stand on your 4th amendment rights....but its going to take a court to decide at which point you are detained and does some fed law like the Patroit Act kick in and deny you your 4th amendment

That was not meant as a reply to you. Just in general. Hit the wrong button. Apologies.

Tell that to the people who did lose loved ones in air catastrophies involving terrorism. As long as its someone else dying right?

These Libertarians, while their heart is in the right place, need to go back a couple of steps to the source. The TSA is under the umbrella of the DHS, which was created under the Patriot Act. Repeal the Patriot Act, and the DHS has no reason to exist, nor does the TSA. The Patriot Act has done more damage to us than the Taliban, al-Qaeda, and the TSA combined.

No, I'm not saying that, I'm saying that when you buy a plane ticket with the expectation of using it, you agree to be physically searched...it's as simple as that...if you don't like it don't fly...or do something other than whining...

Nobody privately owns the street, that's why nobody can search you except a cop with a search warrant.

At the very least you should do the "funky chicken".

They are acting on orders from a law enforcement agency. It's like being deputized. No matter how long or short, if you are acting under the authority of a law enforcement agency, you are considered as an officer of said agency. I'm surprised some of the LEOs here don't know that.

I know many times we see on the news and youtube TSA crossing the line ,but I must admit I have been padded down a handful of times. I have to fly do to work and I have learned to live with the TSA's rules(I know they suck). Once you understand how to travel and avoid being the one to get padded down its not that bad. Its just a suggestion , because TSA is here to stay(unfortunately).

While I think both sides of this issue can be a little extreme sounding, I think something that would help is signing an EULA when you buy a ticket. Because I don't recall ever singing or agreeing to any contract that said I'd be cool with that level of privacy invasion.

This is awesome and what better day for this to occur than the anniversary of the independence of our great nation. it seems that more and more we have been falling victim to the tyrannical government and their stasi style nazi TSA agenda. They need to roll back this whole thing and just get rid of the TSA altogether, Id rather live in a world where bad things happen and people die from time to time than in a world without FREEDOM!!!!

So many of our freedoms have been lost in the last 10 years. Exchanging some risk for getting our freedoms back is a good trade.

Yea, okay, let's arrest a bunch of people following orders from the government.

And then we'll have all kinds of fun like:

"Conservatives call for arrest of welfare office workers"
"Liberals call for arrest of US troops en masse"

Going after Joe Six-Pack making 12.00 bucks an hour patting down grandma isn't going to change things, folks. They probably like doing this just about as much as the general public.

Here is something that will come back and bite the TSA's in the butt. A minor under the age of 18 gets an enhanced patdown and is traumatized by it. They were not in a position to protect themselves, nor turn it down. Since they were a mnor. So what happens now? Think about it. This is government sponsored pedophila. A mere picture of a child can land one in jail. Yet the TSA's touch their genitals? And the children are not allowed to say no? These children are being afforded no rights what-so-ever. This is not voluntary.

You are the one who doesn't understand and the epitome of the low intelligence of the majority of the people of this nation... Sigh!

AKA, he doesn't agree with your opinion, therefore he's stupid. Same argument used by many people. Grow up. I work at the Louisville International Airport as a food-service vendor. My colleagues and I are required to send hundreds of food-items and drinks through the x-ray machines on a daily basis. The items are then swabbed for samples, and the swabs are inserted into a machine that detects residue from things like explosives, poisons, etc. Once inputted into the machine, there is about a 5% chance of the machine alarming, meaning that either me or one of my colleagues must receive a pat-down. I receive a pat-down at least 2-3 times per day. I cannot stand how some of you people compare it to "molestation". I mean, come on. You're comparing a basic frisk to some old man shoving his finger up some kid's butt, really? Grow up, people. I've read soooo many threads on the topic of "TSA molestation", and I've finally decided to reply with my thoughts.

honestly I could care less if they fondled my balls, I just hate the fact that the have the right to do so in a country that is supposed to be free. This brown shirt nazi army needs to be forced out and we need to bring in private security ASAP!

I wonder if the Florida Sheriffs will arrest anyone or give a warning as stated in the letter.
And what is with all the trolling on this thread and ATS (lately)?
