Turkish rail crash 'kills four'
One passenger said a carriage had been crushed
Two trains have collided in north-west Turkey, reportedly killing four people and injuring many more in the third major rail incident in a month.
The trains crashed into each other head-on near the village of Tavsancil in the province of Kocaeli, according to Anatolia news agency.
NTV television said four people were killed and 19 injured.
One train appears to have been travelling from Ankara to Istanbul, the second from Istanbul to Adapazari.
'Like an accordion'
News of the four deaths could not immediately be confirmed at the transport ministry but a passenger who escaped from one of the trains told CNN-Turk
television some people were trapped in wreckage and he thought there had been deaths.
"There are several people trapped in the first carriage, which is totally destroyed," said Kamil Dogan.
"There are several people lying on the ground dead and injured."
Another passenger, Erdem Gosterisli, told CNN-Turk that the first carriage looked "like an accordion".
