CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Dozens of military veterans are meeting in East Charlotte Sunday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm to help homeless vets. They're meeting at The Beacon, a shelter at Independence Boulevard and Eastway drive.

Story

This makes me feel good, brothers and sisters coming to help other less fortunate brothers and sisters. I'd LOVE to see similar stories from other groups.

Veterans Affairs just awarded $12 BILLION to some company to do their computer work. That's a major chunk of their budget.

A 71 year old man was fed up with not being able to get an Appointment with Veterans Affairs and went to their little "clinic" expressing his anger and I guess he 'threatened them with a shotgun". They called the police and a SWAT Team showed up and found the old man half sitting in his van, they fired flash grenades at him, rubber bullets, and bean bags from shotguns....

He's now hospitalized in the local hospital...which he will get he bill for.

Moral of the story...avoid Veterans Affairs...and just go to the local hospital. You won't get shot.
