My spellings fine

I tend to not fix up my typos though, so maybe I have misspelled something- apologies.

What I have a problem with is how Australians are starting to pronounce words like Americans do, even news readers etc do it.

Possibly also, text messaging hasnt helped ..our language is changing.

me too. I'm always mixing up thier and their, and the occasional know for now and your for you're

Being able to form a proper sentence is just as important as being able to spell correctly - especially when you are attempting to accuse others of it yet failing dismally yourself.

You started a troll thread and are now shocked that you are being called out for being the troll that you are?

A troll is a troll is a troll.

Being able to identify information is equally as important as being able to eat with a knife and fork.

If you can not spell knife or fork, then how are you going to be able to process information to the benefit of existence?

So.. last time... for you... especially, this thread is about spelling....

No not surprised. Typical responses from typical people.
So enough of slander. Lets get back on topic

edit on 3-7-2011 by guessing because: spelling correction

So what exactly, about the POOR spelling of Australians are you talking about?
Akushla

Australians do not have a very good literacy rate. see below...

Righto...!!!

Just a hint of where those stats come from.
When we have our National Tests NAPLAN (AKA farcefest), certain kids are told not to come to school.
Other kids are given assistance, which is totally against the rules.
Our schools are given funding for ‘stuff’ based on those stats.

Do you really think ‘they’ a true test of what the kids can do?

You go too far.

School in the end, for the non-scholastically-talented children, is a waste of time. Something I would never say to my kids until they have left!

One last thing…

Pppplllllttttt! (sound made with tongue and lips)

Ahhh I get it now. You get your kicks off thinking you are better than other people who cannot or do not spell as well as you. Other such important things like forming grammatically correct sentences are ignored by you as you don't actually have a good response to it.

Troll.

I completely agree akushla, two of my children wont go to uni, two will. I can already see it.

If they are happy, well adjusted people, I could give two hits about those stats.

Did you actually read the link you provided?

en.wikipedia.org...

Australia has a literacy rate of 99%, exactly the same as France, Germany, UK, USA, Japan, Netherlands and numerous other countries.

So come on, please do provide another equally informative link to support your allegation.

His point is that it makes him feel special to put down others who cannot spell as well as His Highness.
