Earth is dying and we found an suitable but inhabited planet...what then?

So there you have it folks, you are faced with a big dilemma! What do we do?

Find another planet, there are plenty of them out there if you can get to one, you can get to another. Besides if as you say humanity is dying and cant even take care of itself or it's planet. What makes you think they will be able to take over another planet inhabited by beings who are smart enough to thrive and surpass, were humans have failed?

Sorry this would not be like taking over a bunch of primitives, and most wars in human history were usually one sided, only the propaganda was so think that it made people think that the enemy stood a chance. If they stood a chance then the war would not have happened. Kind of like today little wars, if you notice nobody attacks those who can fight back and blow you to pieces, they only slowly eat or take over the smaller fishes around them.

So it would be your best bet to ask if they will take a mass amount of humans into there planet. If not, then look for something else.

The simplest answer would be to find suitable asteroids and equip them with engines. Put them on course for the planet in question and barrage it with asteroid strikes. The space marines could then go in and mop up any leftovers. Genocide? Not a problem.

It would be a quick and mostly painless operation. Leaving you with a sterilized planet with nothing larger than insects and plants. Ready for a quick terraforming into a Earth clone. [
