Lady Gaga accused of fraud in Japan relief efforts

LOS ANGELES: American pop star Lady Gaga is accused of misrepresenting charitable donations from wristbands sold to benefit tsunami and earthquake victims in Japan earlier this year.

The complaint, filed in a Michigan court on Friday by 1800lawfirm, says the star as well as her record label, Universal Music Group, and the Bravado International Group, lacked transparency surrounding the amount of money that was raised from sales of the wristbands and whether those funds were 100 per cent allocated to earthquake and tsunami victims.

Is this a simple oversight , or is Lady Gaga a thief ?

On a side note , this is the first time I can ever recall a " star " of being accused of ripping off a charity , how about you ?

Bill O'Reilly has called out several celebrities and their so-called fundraisers. I'm sure he will do the same with this lady.

Ehh she seemed truthful in her 60 minutes interview

This is a big fad going on with the wealthy.

Basically you start a "charity event" and then people give you even more money!

She should be charged with fraud for presenting herself as an "artist".

I remember when Bill O called out some celebs during the 9/11 fund raising efforts and Wyclef's foundation came under fire in regards to misappropriation of Hati earthquake funds. Either these celebrities need to hire better accountants or they are a bunch of thieves. Prison orange would be a downright improvement in Gaga's horrendous wardrobe, imo.

I read one article that said racketeering charges were being considered.

It's even more suspicious when you consider she gave an interview where she said her first concert tour & her costume budget bankrupted her & left her in heavy debt. And her 2nd album is not selling.

If she was heavily in the black, I'd be more willing to believe it was a simple mistake.
