France Admits to Arms Drops in Libya

technorati.com

The political climate in Libya is unstable. The ideologies and political loyalties of the rebels are still in question. While it may be tempting to follow "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" logic when it comes to offering support on the ground, previous experience in the region shows that is not wise. Whether or not France will be held criminally responsible for these weapons drops remains to seen. That is entirely possible, if it is later proven definitively that the French rifles, ammunition, anti-aircraft missiles, or light armor vehicles included in the drops were used in offensive att

Well so NATO is now the Airforce, Navy and now main weapon supplier of the Libyan rebels. I don't even know how everyone cannot see this as a western power regime change. Seriously France didn't even SELL them to the rebels, just gave them away. After all remember that new central bank the rebels got and funded with $33 Billion worth of Gaddaffi frozen funds

France couldn't securly ship them? What if they fall into the wrong hangs? Oh wait, Gaddaffi Forces are already looking for them:

"March on the jebel (Nafusa) and seize the weapons that the French have supplied. If later you want to pardon them (the rebels), that's up to you," Kadhafi said.
(At a recent rally in Tripoli)

link here

And lastly, what if the rebels use the new weapons the wrong way and harm civilians? oh NATO will step in directly

Combine this with the fact that NATO has already killed hundreds of civilians, I for one can smell the bull from miles away.

thoughts?

Shoulda been in there and this over with already. Too many countries trying to appease the masses and not look bad.

In my opinion keep bombing till Ghadafi is dead, install a friendlier dictator and be done with it. Then move on to the next one.

It really should not be taking this long at all.

Finally, someone other than the US is catching hell.

Of course, the US is probably arming the rebels as well.

Humanitarian reasons are just how they get their foot in the door. NATO is there to stay, first till their dictator is dead, then till they establish there own stable government, a.k.a. NATO puppet, then they'll build an army base there to maintain there influence and get there oil.

Then off to Syria I suspect, for humanitarian reasons

Kro, this isn't a video game. You talk of war and death like it is one. The U.S. should not "install a puppet" anywhere. Do you even understand the magnitude of these topics you talk about with such ease?

Not at all. America and the other Western powerhouses did not get where they are by being nice. This whole middle east thing is just dragging on and on so either get out or do what you need to do. There does appear to be some sort of a democratic uprising sweeping that part of the world and I understand that the western powers want to influence that but they obviously don't have a clue on what to do.

They obviously don't want Ghadaffi in there so send in your teams and take em out. Then either have a new leader waiting in the wings to take over or let the people decide and if they choose unwisely take that one out till we get what we want.

Can people please recognize this as an official war now? Or are people going to keep sipping on the Amerikan kool aid? Calling this NOT a war is like saying QE and QE2 are beneficial to the economy.

Seriously Frace didn't even SELL them to the rebels, just gave them away.

no,

the french weapons companies (to which Sarkozy was the lawyer for very long time) sold them to france that bought them with public/taxpayer money. It was not free.

then those same "politicians" commanded by the weapons corps lawyer (& 1st business provider) gave them away. & now they can justify/increase their defense budget and buy more weapons from those same corps (to name them dassault & lagardere).

See the main job of a french president is to sell weapons & whoever buy doesn't matter as long as they get the cash (whether it comes from the poor lybian taxpayer or the poor french taxpayer)

Note that it is also probably a late compensation to the deal that Gaddafi didn't make with French weapons corps one or two years ago (that was epic that visit of Gaddafi in France) : they lost money on that & they get some back now - from the french tax payer... who thinks it is ok after some nice propaganda in the local MSM

+: they might well have negotiated some kind of arrangement : free weapons for now & we help you to take control then you buy from us after (or else we remove you the same way we removed Gaddafi that refused business with us)

Weapon business is the first industry in france & nothing is free in this world.

you don't understand world politics very well and have no regard for civilian human life. Most who have fled the border who are for or against the current government are saying let us sort our own stuff out and leave please, similar comments made by iraq civilians. If you want to understand world politics and not be a propaganda puppet read and watch media coverage from all sides not just ours. So many different takes depending on which paper you read but i bet you,ve only read the american, nato, un side. Educate yourself and make informed opinions otherwise people will assume your still in junior high.

So france is violating a UN arms embargo. Why don't they just piss on the UN charter and on the security council altogether? Why the hell did the world give them permanent membership and VETO powers in the security council anyway?

There is an arms embargo for a reason: The world dosen't want military hardware and small arms, in the hands of groups that are un-recognized and unidentified. Think back to when the U.S gave military aid to and Islamic Pakistani government, to arm the Taliban: That backfired in everyones face. 3000 dead due to Islamic terrorism (for those who believe the official story) and U.S involvment in two wars, one directly due to Islamic terrorism and another just because heck "all those brown people look the same, they could be terrorists".

Well America if you are going to defeat Gahdaffi
you had better do it soon

Well darn Gahdaffi and his puppet General Electric
have made the west coast unlivable...
Five Hot particles a day on average
( freedom friers, frying in on the jetstream...BRILLIANT))
still borns increasing , cancer on the rise...slow but sure

The flood in the midwest is about to liberate even more toxic constituents downstreem
Gahdaffi sending a backhoe to rupture the inflatable burm is a classic lonewolf behind enema lines manoover.

Not to mention the gigantic snopack waterbomb
destroying levees and flooding ..how many states?

Now if the fires reach the toxic waste at Lost Alamoe...you may have a NOFLY zone in Texas shortly
how are you going to evacuate to safety if you can't fly out?

And that move where he invented the granny and child probing TSA to demooralize the american ppeople and to prevent the people's militias from deploying to any invasion sites
is one of the most incredible acts of military inventiveness the world has ever seen...

Now his teams of propaganda specialist are using the truth to beat america and its NATO allies into a coma in the world wrestling ring on public watched TV...

alex jones put this out to several million viewers on friday
tarpley.net...
wow almost a million Libyan men and women and grannies! demonstrating against the invasion
and they all have guns given to them by Gahdaffi...THE NERVE of the guy arming his people...!

almost twenty percent of the people standing up!
wow thats support

If the UN takes away americas guns like obama wants
How will america defend itself from them
if Libya decides to fight back against the coming invasion?

France will arm you

I have been wondering about this myself.

I say this because most of the Arab nations use Com Bloc weapons..or hand downs from Com Bloc nations...the AK 47 or AK74, SVD, RPK weapons in small calibers or individual type weapons.

What I have seen in alot of photos is Rebel troops using what appears to be the FN/FAL or a variation of this rifle.

en.wikipedia.org...

I do not believe the Com Block nations have huge stocks of these rifles go give away to emerging socialist nations in waiting. The Com Block nations tend to give away many of the types listed in my second sentence as they stamp them out by the thousands and thousands along with the ammunition for the same. I also believe the Com Block nations sold many of their weapons to Qaddafi for cash.

Just an observation on my part. When I look at photos of a war area or region, I tend quickly to notice what small arms are being used by any side/sides.

Thanks,
Orangetom
