McCotter is popular among a narrow band of conservatives for his brand of "wry" Republican and Tea Party humor, which is really just the same old nonsense with an twist of sarcastic condescension.

You'll get a good example of his style in this clip from a floor speech in 2008, in which he pontificates about "Speaking Democratic." He gave a similar presentation of slides in 2007 when arguing against reauthorizing the State Children's Health Insurance Program, calling it socialist HillaryCare or something... it's unimportant.

He has not always taken a pure conservative line, however. He has written that there is room for labor and management to come together in the interest of both. And on the campaign trail, he will have to defend a vote to rescue General Motors and Chrysler that may not be as popular outside Michigan as in it.

Two different sources and spins to this, our newest candidate for POTUS. I watched him waste our tax dollars attempted stand up comedy in the above Youtube video, and personally have no interest in someone that out of touch with reality. At least have the respect for your office to not waste our time with nonsense such as Learning to Speak Democtratic. I would think someone interested in the office of the President would have more respect for the office.

So, anyone from Michigan have any thoughts on the latest contender? If he does get elected, at least he can serenade us with his guitar skills!

im from michigan and i dont know if he would ever have a chance of being elected but i definetly like the video haha. It is true that outside of michigan that hes going to have a hard time explaining the bailout and i think that would be his downfall.

ANOTHER Candidate?

First we had Pat Paulson.

Then Sempter and Overlord.

Now ANOTHER joker?

At least I knew our team was a joke.

Or did I?

I am not from Michigan and I have never heard of this fella. Perhaps his fellow radical 80's cover band members put him up to a double dog dare to run. It would appear that they solely do Wang Chung covers.

Anyhoo, I'm going to file McCotter into the non issue bin. If his name was Mr. Kotter I just might give him a nod.

Love his appearances on "Red Eye".

Guy has a great sense of humor.

He has as much of a chance as Ron Paul at this point. (ZERO)

Respect for the office? What would that entail? Name a president in our generation's lifetime that had respect for the office and didn't use it for persoanl gain. Maybe Jimmy Carter.

Reagan - union buster and tax breaks for his rich buddies, while building up the military industrial complex even further

Bush 1 - still uses office for personal gain in the form of using his national security clearance to get daily briefings. (One of the heads for the Carslyle Group and involved with Saudi royals)

Clinton - whitewater before his presidency and using office for sexual nature

Bush 2 - war machine and getting oil buddies and haliburton rich. Tax cuts for wealthiest

Obama - already using office for beefing up campaign war chest by holding fundraisers at white house, auctioning off chef for campaign cash, taping fund raising videos (all of which may be in violation). Keeping wall street happy and propelling more war.

You can make fun of McCotter for being in a cheesy band, but how many times did Clinton break out saxophone during campaigns?

As far as the auto bailouts, he was one congressman who went against his party to help the people in his district instead of just looking for personal gain. How many can actually claim that?

Nobody gets my vote this time around because Obama is proof that once inside the beltway, you change and become one of them and just look out for themselves.

Sorry Thad, no chance in hell and I used to live in his district.
