You Obama Fans might want to hear what your President is up to. He will be a one term President but the question is can the damage is is attempting be limited. I know that, when the Government starts pushing on farmers and the rural peoples, that is when the real fight will begin.

Yeah, but that's from Fox News. I'd take the story with a grain of salt. They are probably misrepresenting what the order is actually about. Sort of like what they did with the health care bill, and many, many other stories. Have you actually read the E.O.?

I know it says business, not news, btw.

thats bs

if the clean air act wasnt enough the control over water and air in this country he created more power.

already the government pays people not to farm and they guarantee prices now they are going to tell people what they can and cant be planting and how to do it and what pesticides and fertizlers to use but wait not good enough.

now if your not productive enough sorry bout your luck they seize your land and give it to someone else but wait thats not enough if your too successful oh not lets spread the wealth.

its aimed at large and small and big farm corporations people that is seriously screwed up.

they control the energy and food supplies of this country with absolute power.

i've read it.

and i got to say, as someone who recently moved to a rural area(and attained a position on our local town council), i don't like the direction it moves the federal government in.
under the guise of improvement and prosperity it will slowly remove the control of the local governments to effectively govern their areas.
the language of the e.o. reads as if they see rural areas as a potential revenue source for the f.g. and they'll invest and exploit for their own gains, all the while saying it's in the best interest of the communities. imho.

there was previous thread on this topic the day after the e.o. was signed. it probably died.

Sec. 4. Mission and Function of the Council.

(a) make recommendations to the President, through the Director of the Domestic Policy Council and the Director of the National Economic Council, on

streamlining and leveraging Federal investments in rural areas,

where appropriate, to increase the impact of Federal dollars and create economic opportunities to improve the quality of life in rural America;

(b) coordinate and increase the effectiveness of Federal engagement with rural stakeholders, including
agricultural organizations,
small businesses,
education and training institutions,
health-care providers,
telecommunications services providers,
research and land grant institutions,
law enforcement,
State, local, and tribal governments, and nongovernmental organizations regarding the needs of rural America;

Yah...sounds real sinister. A plan to offer Apalachia an alternative to Meth Labs and small towns a chance to get federal loans to start new businesses.

Oh yah...and don't forget "telecom" and the sinister plan to bring internet access to rural communities.

And that evil plan to improve access to healthcare and Education in small towns.

And by the way, you do realize this is the establishment of a policy ADVISORY committee? It ursurps absolutely no authority from the community or states.

Geez...you have to really work hard to construct a sinister conspiracy here, but I am sure Fox and it's followers will do just that.

First, to you Advisor, thank you for posting the link to that actual order. It is sheer laziness on the parts of other members here that they push the "news" and "opinions" of easily sourced documents.

------------
The rest of this post is reply in general and not specifically to you Advisor.

Why is such an executive order needed?

The Federal Government has an important role to play in order to expand access to the capital necessary for economic growth, promote innovation, improve access to health care and education, and expand outdoor recreational activities on public lands.

By the president's assertion, these areas are incapable of such improvements without the hand of the Federal Government. To what data and logic are they using to show the justification to implement this?

To enhance the Federal Government's efforts to address the needs of rural America...

If this is the case, why is it an executive order and not presented by an individual(s) that represent said rural areas to bring this type of aid through sound legislation?

In my estimation, this is more bureaucratic entrenchment. Through the bureaucracy, in which the government is increasingly more becoming, regulations, rather than law will dictate local politics and local communities. Nefarious? Maybe not, but to what need is there for such a council?

the federal government has a horrible track record

see the corrupt medicare, medicaid systems

if you have ever tried to receive 'help' from these systems you know all too well, if you never have experienced it, it's reputation is largely known either way

see the corrupt federal government itself as another example

see how they handle the economy, what has happened to it

and now the american people will let a bankrupt government who has track record of making things worse and generally complicating things to no one's benefit .. the american people will let them run the entire crop system? these few in washington with this control over the food production?

somehow this is a good thing or will benifit somehow? the same people that are backing genetically modified foods and helping monsanto patent SEEDS OF PLANTS, disallowing farmers who use their patented seeds to harvest and use seeds from plants grown from their seeds - forcing them to buy new seeds each season

tell how this already proven corrupt system getting MORE control over YOUR food is a good idea

IT'S a BAD IDEA and i'm OPPOSED TO IT

How about just one person post the scary parts of the EO for me? I read the entire thing and it seems FOX news did not. Quite a few people seem to oppose this without explaining even a little bit why. Bad paintings remind me of Hitler too but that does not mean painting is evil.

Rural councils which control what farmers plant and what pesticides to use, etc? Sounds like UN Agenda 21 to me, to the T.

Heres a good blog explaining it

First, the term "Stakeholders" is a buzzword used in UN Agenda 21, which this whole thing is so obviously a part of, and Obama is definitely a stooge for the One World Totalitarian UN Order. Second, it is not the function of government to provide telecom to rural areas or to poor people via income redistribution, which is what it amounts to. Collectivists have a completely foul understanding of the US Constitution and of what our govt is supposed to provide for citizens under that Constitution. The Founding Fathers never intended a One World Controlling government or dictatorship or they never would have fought the tyranny of the British King.

Oh gosh, the first couple sentences of that EO talk about "winning the future". Please gag with a spoon!!!!!! It's all just so disgustingly collectivist, socialist, Utopian, using Orwellian type terminology.

Yeah, the idea of Utopia is disgusting.

I'm not surprised by your comment. I've read some of your posts before. Some people truly believe that the dictators and the Elite of this world truly want a divinely inspired Utopia where everyone has equal say in things. Marxism has never delivered this Utopia in any way shape or form, and it is completely naive to think that those who are trying to shape every aspect of our lives through social engineering and dictatorial "sustainable" advice in our communitities really care about us. You really could benefit from researching the real agenda of the UN an Agenda 21, and what they really have in store for us. They have sold the world a bill of goods talking about being "sustainable" (just another UN buzzword meaning "control of the world's resources by an Elite few) and it's just amazing how some people really believe a handful of Elite have our best interests at heart. Just look at the Club of Rome, Bill Gates and Melinda Gates foundation, and their agenda of depopulation and you will understand that their true agenda is getting rid of the "human parasites" on the planet so that they can have all the resources to themselves. These Elites parade around like they care so much about the common people( just more Marxist nonsense about the proletariat, and even Karl Marx had a maid servant, so he was no better than any of these so called rich people. ) but their real agenda is to get rid of the useless eaters. They will use whatever methods they like, including but not limited to sterilants in the water, sterilants in vaccines(BIll Gates self professed favorite), abortion, financial incentives to limit family size, and controlling all the resources of the planet through rationing. It's so diabolical, and you would do well to get rid of that naive belief they will bring a lovely gorgeous happy Utopia.
