You can't argue against basing admission on academic merit because to gain that merit, we all start from the same place. It's called Public Education

If a group is having a problem getting into college based on a merit system, the answer would be simple - DO BETTER IN SCHOOL!

Sorry but that whole socioeconomic excuse is exactly that - an excuse. A copout. A reason to not try as hard as other people yet expect more. Goddamned entitlement-driven welfare programs now have people believing they're to gain more by doing nothing.

This is the same Justice system that found Casey Anthony innocent of murdering her own child and set her free. What do you expect? Our justice system is broken and until we get people in authority with some horse sense, we will continue this PC crap.
