Chavez is a dictator. I imagine there are countless examples that you or anyone else can provide that'll illustrate how brutal dictatorships bring lasting peace and joy and happiness to its people.

Well, I didnt mean to make it sound like ALL of South America, only the socialist ones have the upper class headed to America.

Most of South America is heaven for brutal upper classes, and some of the worlds greatest disparities of wealth happen there. In those countries, the rich want to stay, everything is how they like it. Hell, you can shoot poor children in the street in Brazil.

www.abctrust.org.uk...

5.0 DEATH SQUADS Street Children are not unique to Brazil. Brazil stands out though because most of its Street Children expect to be killed before they are 18. Backed by citizen groups and commercial establishments, death squads have become more and more violent in their goal to "clean-up" the streets and "guarantee public safety". It is estimated by child care agencies that up to 5 or 6 children a day are assassinated on Rio's streets, even conservative figures put the number at 2 killings every day. Children have been executed and some mutilated almost beyond recognition

Our government doesnt have a problem with that, though, does it? If you take the time to read about South America, you start to get an idea why Chavez is dangerous. You have a lot of very poor people, being treated pretty brutally, and having a socialist country flaunting all the perks their people are getting is asking for an uprising. Its part of why Libya got tagged too. The Libyan people had the best standard of living in the region, and even better than some out side the region.

Socialism is dangerous because the people really do get treated better. Im not talking about Communism, but just nations like France who lean socialist. They get more perks, better working conditions, and the people who run the world dont want that money being spend on the poor when it could go to them instead.

Dont let yourself be bullied. He is just teasing your English.

Half the people who talk smack about Chavez have no idea what is actually going on in South America at all.

It was correct for you to mention Cuba in relation to Venezuela. Tell us how the economy--and the very lives of each Cubean in Cuba--has improved since Castro took over and killed a bunch of people in the process.

Betcha you don't wanna....

Why wouldnt I "wanna?" I think Cuba has done fairly well considering that the US has done everything in its power to ensure they cannot do business with anyone because we dont want socialists in our back yard, and we are pissed off that they seized property belonging to American business people during the revolution.

If we didnt have our boot on their necks, they would be doing even better.

I could take whomever you personally think the best artist in the world is, and lock them up in a room with nothing at all to paint with and say, "pffft, they arent even producing any paintings, they are no artist" and totally ignore that they are being kept from the things they need to do what they do.

And I certainly wont claim Castro would have the "best economy in the world" but the fact his little boat is still afloat after all these years says he is doing pretty well. How is Americas economy doing right now?

Chavez is definitely on our hit list because Venezuela has oil, and we have friends in the region who cant have socialism in their back yard while their people are having such a hard time. It raises the risk their people will fight for a more equitable distribution of the profits made from their labor and national shared resources, too.

So I agree. While Cuba has not been forgotten, they are last on the list of socialist countries we are after, because they really arent a danger to neighboring countries, and we have them economically isolated, and they really dont have a whole lot of resources in hot demand by western interests right now.

Yes, it is only a matter of time before he loses the battle of hearts and minds, and then, power. Obviously, his opposition has some powerful friends.

That is the problem with leadership everywhere really. Its almost impossible to keep their hands out of the cookie jar. In the US, they just get their kick backs after they leave office, in the form of fees for "speaking engagements" and other intercourse with the people they have helped.

Personal fortunes tend to skyrocket once a president leaves office.

In many countries they just take it right off the top. Its sad that people dont have the will to stop it entirely, and really only argue about having enough crumbs fall from the table to keep them fed, clothed, healthy and happy. Whats even sadder is that even that minimal demand is too much for some leaders to comply with, and they want a bigger cut even if it means their people starve and die from easily treated conditions.

Edit to add,

The sad thing is, that no matter how bad Chavez objectively is, he is still better than what we would like to see in there. For his own people, that is. Not for business interests.

Looks like the zionists are able to spread lies on the internet as well as the TV to me.

Bin-Laden was lucky he fell out of an helicopter after being dead for years and just at a time when Obabma needed some good press.
