Now that's something I agree with completely! I've been pondering a similar thought as well, for a little while now.

With all these "alerts" being announced and all the "intel" that's being leaked - it seems logical to me that something will be attempted by our own government, and then blamed on AQ.

If nothing happens, then GREAT! But I still don't buy into all the "alerts" - they don't make me fearful - they just annoy the heck out of me!

Many of you are thinking like Americans. This is not the same way of thinking in the Middle Eastern Terrorist mindset.

Many have eluded to an attack on the DNC. What good would this have done? This would just pretty much seal their fate for the next four years.

Look at it from thier standpoint. Kerry would rather embrace the enemy than shoot at him. He proved this Vietnam and if elected will prove it again. For more information on his true Vietnam record:

With this in mind, what would they think of Bush being basically handed the election if they attacked the DNC? Four more years of war? So why not attack the RNC? There is no reason. The opinion polls are showing that the American people are getting tired of our boys coming home in Body Bags while nothing is really being accomplished Iraq or Afganastan. In other words, they want the war to end.

George Bush, is a maniac who (in my opinion) believes he is fighting for God and possibly thinks he is Richard the Lion Hearted during the cruisades. Bully for Bush. What he really is is a rich boy from Texas who hasn't the first clue how to fight a war and is getting a lot of boys killed. And what is the reason for our boys dieing over their? Can somone actually clue me in.

The tide of American opinion is turning against him and the terrorists know that.

In the terrorist mindset, this is a thousand year war. What that means is that they have the time to wait out all the American and British hoopla that is the war in Iraq.

Quite honestly, I don't forsee an attack on American soil for quite some time. They are accomplishing their goal by simply leaking information to the press that they are planning something. Thus the treat level goes up and everyone gets paraniod. This is their mission, their goal in life if you will. It is the very definition of terroism.

In order to actually win a war of this scope, a nation must be willing to commit men and resources for many years, not just a year and a half. But the American people are not willing to foot the bill for this, nor are they willing to watch their sons die for that long.

This is a no win situation for this country, only because of this countries mindset. Change the mindset of the people of the US and the UK and it is possible to attain the objective. But that will never happen.

Just thought I would put my two cents in.

Yes, I must agree. His position towards Israel and the situation in Iraq are potential motives too.

When you say "they" leak are you referring to U.S. government or terrorist?
If you are speaking of the terrorist I wouldn't call capturing a terrorist and finding info on his laptop a leak by terrorist.

I agree also. When I first heard this story this morning, my first thought was Musharraf. Similar to the way that they assasinated the leader of the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan days before 9-11.

I've read somewhere, not too long ago, that G. W. Bush gave the green light to any CIA agents to perform assassinations against anybody in the world. I wouldn't doubt the possibility that is such a high profile assassination were to occur, it would essentially be a CIA operation.

And when is the CIA going to fess up that Osama is a prized CIA asset, in that Osama recruits and trains unsuspecting people in the Middle East for the CIA. Just think of it, Osama probably does not give a shyte about the poor people who join his camps, just as long as he can keep his millions and be able to walk free.

In my opinion, Osama runs and works in the same groups as G. W. Bush.

the world is on a war footing, since bush propell us to this perpetual war never ending with a supposedly faceless timelless enemy TERRORISM. all these alerts, intel and so on, maybe actually fabrications, if bin laden wants to strike , he will ,but without any of those bogus plans. more boost for bush on his war on terror

To all who say look they raised the terror alert and nothing happened. Well by raising the terror alert we make the security better around the targets and we cause al qade to change their plans and we delay them. There for every time they change their plans we have to raise a new alert on those new targets its a chain reaction.

These latests warnings have my mind racing. Here's something that is possible, but not likely.

The RNC is one place that is attacked, Bush is not harmed. The Bin Laden video released prior. So it looks like Bin Laden did this attack, but actually it will be Bush cleaning office. The US citizens will back Bush when he announces he will get Bin Laden and they will sing "God Bless America" and thank God that Bush bearly missed being killed in the attack. Mean while the stock market has collasped. A few weeks later president Bush announces the capture of Bin Laden, the people cheer, the stock market rallies and the final outcome is Bush is re-elected for another 4 years.

The notice to assassinate Bush is out of character. I'm sure he wouldn't be given any advanced warning. But the RNC is coming up, and this Bin laden video, along with the Bush threat could be some advanced publicity to ensure NYC is sealed tight from protesters, to possibly send a subliminal message to say the citizenry that Bin Laden is afraid of him being elected again, or it could be real. I rate the likelyhood of the scenarios as I listed them.

I do not expect the CIA or anyone else to publish a timetable of terrorist attacks, I only tried (and failed, apparently) to show that what they where saying was obvious.

All terrorist attacks in history happened inside the USA or outside the USA, and all the targets where US citizens or not US citizens. What they where saying could be said by anyone.

PS: I always think before I type, but thinking in one language that is not my native language is a little difficult, and the results sometimes are not what I was expecting.
