So I got a call from a friend who lives near this Volcano in Upala Costa Rica. He told that he had experienced a few earthquakes in the area yesterday and it scared a lot of folks because they typically do not have regular earthquakes in that area. All of the plates and windows in the house were broken so apparently it was pretty strong. So I went to earthquake.usgs.gov and immediately noticed that there was not any earthquakes listed at for Costa Rica.... hmmm, so I dug a little deeper and viewed the last felt earthquakes for Costa Rica which brought me to this page www.ovsicori.una.ac.cr.... On this page it shows the following earthquakes occuring near the volcano:

Date-------- | ----Time -----|-Mag-|Depth-|
2011-06-28-----22:41:00----3.4----25------ 10.8611 -85.0883
2011-06-28-----22:39:00----3.2----5 --------10.7535 -85.05
2011-06-28-----18:37:00----3.5----24------- 10.771 -85.111

Have a look into 'hydration and dehydration cycle of the Costa Rican subduction zone'. When a zone has been lubricated by sea water there is an increase in volcanic activity. They use that type of data in Japan and Indonesia to understand the cycles of dormant and active volcanoes.
