A generic Republican candidate now holds a four-point lead over President Obama in a hypothetical 2012 election matchup. It's the fifth week in a row that the GOP candidate has been ahead and the widest gap between the candidates to date.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds a generic Republican candidate earns support from 46% of Likely U.S. Voters, while the president picks up 42% of the vote. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and nine percent (9%) are undecided.

Tap dance around the words any way you want. But Obamas' chances are about the same as Paris Hiltons' chances of chairing the next MENSA meeting.

Dance around the words?

Let's try this in NON-Generic Ballots...

The conservative WSJ has Obama leading Romney 49 to 43 in National Polls for June...ditto several other Polls.

And as far as National Polls Obama vs. Bachmann?

Fairleigh Dickinson National 6/1-6/7/11
Obama 51 Bachmann 32

Reuters Ipsos National 6/3-6/6/11
Obama 53 Bachmann 33

ABC Washington Post National 6/2-6/5/11
Obama 51 Bachmann 40

Suffolk University National 5/10-5/17/11
Obama 50 Bachmann 30

Reuters Ipsos National 5/5-5/9/11
Obama 54 Bachmann 33

ABC Washington Post National 4/14-4/17/11
Obama 52 Bachmann 38

Can you tell the difference between an Imaginary GOP candidate and a real one yet?

The GOP continues to treat reality and facts as an inconvenience to be dismissed.

That is their greatest error in policy and rhetoric as well as this presidential election and the last one.

DISCONNECT.

You are exactly right. Why are people even asking who will beat Barry. Barry was selected just like Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon etc......

People vote although it does not count. Remember Bush Jr.

Of course she has a chance, she's genuine. She is the same person she has always been and always will be. She is a great talker, Charisma, good looks, great fundraiser and is actually pretty smart.

Every one has flubs, heck many of you naysayers had to edit your posts. Does that make you dumb like you try to portray her as? No, it means mistakes get made, period. Compare all the stupid stuff Obama has said in the last few years to her statements, Obama's flubs beat her hands down. Take away his tele-prompter and you are left with a babbling idiot.

her ideology is dead on for what this country needs. Smaller government staying out of it's citizens lives. Romney has Romney-care and his belief in Global Warming dogging him, unelectable. I love Ron Paul, but the powers that be will never allow him to be elected.

For the person bashing her for the twenty-three foster children. I've met foster children and foster parents before and many times the relationship doesn't just come to a screeching halt when one party moves on. Many times honest parental relationships are formed.

Forget about Bachman for a second.
The real question we should be asking is "why does Obama deserve fore, oops I mean, four more years?"

She is too conservative for independents and the "tired of Obama" dems. Based on ultra conservative Republican votes alone, she'll never make it.

She has plenty of time to convince those people she isn't as right wing as she's being portrayed. The debates haven't even started yet so it's too early to judge how the country will take her.

She has already been in one debate.

There will never be a candidate that both sides will ever be happy with.
I mean, if Jesus Christ were running I'm sure there would be folks on the left trying to dig up dirt on the man.

I don't like those curly bulbs! Want straight bulbs? Vote Michelle! A while ago her double-digits stood at 22% compared to Obama at 23%. She might have a chance but then again she needs to get her FACTS straight and NOT be a flip-flopper like Romny.
