Iran warns of 'serious action' if upcoming BBC docu offends 'Muslims' sanctity'

First let me say that the islamic countries were kidnaping africans for slavery for hundreds of years before Britain. Something the African Americans tend to forget when asking nations to say sorry for their actions. But back to the thread. Could it be that the Iranians are seriously afraid that the true history of Mohammed (I wont go into his life story) as that might probably offend even some muslim sensibilities at how a prophet should not act. Just as the Jesus myth has been sanitized for christians so the Mohammed myth has been sanitized for the muslims. I seriously doubt that the BBC would even show any semblance of the real Mohammed life as this would open a lot of peoples eyes, including the majority of muslims.

The man from Iran has spoken eh! He will decide what can be shown on television in Britain. I have a few suggetions for him. Why don't you come over here and find out what offends Westerners sanctity

How about Islam letting a man marry a baby and allow him to sodomise her from 1 years of age. (This is in Judaism and Christianity has a watered down version too)

How about the 4 wife marriage plus paying for concubines? Can he not keep it in his pants - clearly not, because Islam allows him to go to an Imam and by Sedheh buy concubines and keep them for a set time, couple of days or longer just to have sex with them then leave them. This is set up so that the man cannot be stoned to death for adultery. Twisting one's religion for sexual freedom while claiming to value your extended family.

That's impressive Religious manoeuvring by Islamic men because it could be argued that many of them are far more promiscuous than Western men.

All the Abramic religions have this perverse piety but its by research and discussion as on here, that one gets a firmer understanding of these religions. I think its would benefit Islam to face up to having its hidden topics out in the open because if we don't stop this stupid idea of rigidly taking beliefs and practices from 2000 to 1400 years ago and applying them to today's world and especially today's laws where sodomising a baby is utterly unacceptable the soppy bitching and nonsense this creates will simply carry on. Its those who hate humanity who want these divisons and wars maintained, but its those who love humanity who don't.




Its a strange thing but on these threads we have opened up all sorts of mysterious and unbelievable facts about both Christianity and Judaism which has been fascinating and informative. Its foolish to shut off Islam because a greter need for understand that religion is called for, not more ignorance and certainly no threats. so-called sanctity doors, peered behind all sorts of sacred cows and closely examined both Judaism and Christianity. As the youngest and third part of this so-called blessed trinity of beliefs I certainly do't see any reason for a Western Country not to do the same with Islam, or is it more what we will find that Tehran is frightened of. How about Sigheh. This is where your respectable married man can nip along to the Imam and set us a squalid little payment and he has now bought a woman on the side so can't be tried for adultery.

A very informative piece. The biggest trouble arises when the day to day running of a country and people cannot be seperated from the established religious community. Like the country of Iran feeling insulted by the portrayal of Mohamed. This should be the religion insulted not the country. This sadly is how the muslim countries and Isreal perceive the world. I could agree with Iran, Afghanistan and all the other beligerent muslim countries if the western governments that are in those countries were actively trying to change their countries religion. But they're not. This, with hindsight, happened with all the axis nations in WW2 ie. be beligerant, take that beligerence to other countries and you will have free nations fighting you. But play the game of being tolerant and do not under any circumstances try to inflict any pressure (religious or otherwise) on any other country and you will be left alone.

Secondly you can always say no to the CIA. Granted they may kill you if you say no. But you have that option.

But that's how intelligence agencies work. Of all stripes and nations. Not just the west.

I read a lot of Mohamed’s righting and he sounded like he was mentally unstable and gay. I think he never ascended to heaven but was killed by his brother, as he sounded more and more outrageous the older he got. (and he obviously hated women=gay and afraid of it)

from reading the article it seems irans biggest concern i that they will only tell the sunni side of the story and leave out the shia side for comparison sake...well crap i cant think of a relevent comparison unless Protestants have a version of the pope(do they?) i guess it would kinda be like the pope saying something and a documentary being made that only showed the catholic side of of the story if that makes sense....on that ground ill give them some credit but still no need to toss out threats like they did heck if they realy wanted to send a message they would make there own version and make it unbiased(not likely but hey we can hope) and then show that one but i dobut it

Wide spread protests by Muslims would be a big mistake. Westerner's are still PO'd about the Muslim protest over the Mohammad cartoon.

One of these times, Islam is going to push too hard, and things are going to get real ugly.

The slightly worrying thing is that the British media have a track record of giving into Muslim sensibilities. Channel 4 shelved a documentary about gangs of Muslim men in Bradford grooming young girls 13/14 years of age for sex. It was shelved so's not to inflame the Muslim communities. As with the Catholic community it's always about protecting a churches sensibilities rather than concern for their young victims.
