Excellent reply. It's great to get a response from someone within the Industry that can actually see these issues for what they are.

I didn't mean that it's free market capitalism, I meant we're being sold out under the premise of Capitalism and free enterprise.

great question!

from the public view of the world, it makes absolutely no sense for the US to buy computer chips and other tech. Thats just opening the door to so many bad things. want to know what I really think is going on?

all the governments are in cahoots and the whole things a charade. Even if the china/Us went to war, you can be damn sure the elites on both sides wont be bothered in their comfy underground survival bunkers.

China would not gain anything by going to war with the US.
Way to much to loose monetarily

This reminds me of a thread by mister.old.school posted on 21-4-2008 titled FBI Fears Chinese Hackers Have Back Door Into US Government & Military
It involved counterfeit Cisco Network Routers.........US$78 million worth of them.

Yep. TMSC and the others wouldn't be destroyed by China, they would be SEIZED... and China would take all the technology for themselves.

The supply chain are the backbone of a war campaign. Without it, you lose (like Hitler in Russia)... well guess what, if China takes over Taiwan and stop exporting rare earth materials (which the US military needs for most if not all their high tech weapons) the US military will break down real fast, and China will win.

The US government and the Pentagon need to wake the hell up and start building high tech factories like TMSC in the US, develop rare earth material mining and stop buying freaking US military parts from China!

So this is how the elite are going to get around the might of the U.S. Military is the next great war (WWIII). Just make the majority of our equipment not work.

Same article, but I am reading something much different.

The chips turned out to be counterfeits from China, but it could have been even worse. Instead of crappy Chinese fakes being put into Navy weapons systems, the chips could have been hacked, able to shut off a missile in the event of war or lie around just waiting to malfunction.

Could have been are the key words. This article is nothing but speculation. And the original post here is misleading. Although I do agree that using those parts in missles is not wise.

Uh, this type of wording and leaks is how the "intelligence community" (meaning the 7 sisters of 3 letter agencies) communicates certain areas of interest without technically revealing classified information.

Yes, the article is nothing but speculation. And it is nothing but speculation that the publication of the article is a consequence of some facts which, speculatively, might have actually occurred, or very speculatively, People In A Position To Know, might have speculated about Knowing.

Most important rule of intelligence analysis: follow the money. If somebody writes an article, then maybe it's opinion. If there's a committee with paid consultants set up, then it's serious. If somebody starts spending actual money on a factory, then it is most certainly Not An Exclusively Theoretical Concern.
