The Gog/Magog War Prophesied In Ezekiel 38-39 Is Beginning

Anyone else thinking the Antichrist (or supposed figure) could come from a Muslim nation or am I interpreting that completely wrong?

Seems to me like these uprisings in the so-called Arab Spring will unite these nations into one big group like a continent within a continent. That's when they'll attack Israel, get their asses handed to them eventually and then a charismatic leader within the Muslim Gathering (as I'll call it for all intents and purposes right now) will be the one to request the peace treaty for 7 years.

Interesting discussion going on.

The nice thing about the Bible is that it provides a good overview of history -- we even get to see how everything ends before actually having to live through it.

The tough part is figuring out where all the modern day events fit in, since much of what is revealed in the end times focuses more around the Middle East region.

As for China, I think I recall a mention of kings of the east bringing a large army across a stopped up river (Euphrates?). I'm not sure if there was a mention of India. The number of cavalry mentioned is 200 million. I know that there are probably not enough horses in the world for that many people. Could John have been looking at motorcycles? Whatever he saw, he thought it looked like cavalry (soldier on horses). Remebmer that John only had words from his own time to describe what he saw in a future time, so in order to try to tell his readers what he was looking at, he had to use terms that were available during his time period.

As our current times approach the times described as the end times in the Bible, we can only do our best to figure out what was being decribed by an ancient writer unfamiliar with our modern technology.

As for the attack led by Gog & Magog, what does everyone think as to how it fits into future history? Should it be something expected around the time of the Great Tribulation, or would it be something more a description of the last battle near the end of the Millenium?

I thought the Anti-Christ would have more Jewish roots. Now, I've heard that Qaddafi might have Jewish ancestry, so there may be something there, in that Libya is sort of part of the "Spring Uprising". But I'm not sure he has the charisma to accomplish something like that.

EDIT TO ADD: 30 minutes into this thread, NOT ONE of the negative posts have actually addressed the OP. If your intention is to insult me, or berate me for my faith, you are only wasting my time and yours. Unless you actually want to discuss the information I have presented, you might as well keep on walking because your insults don't phase me in the least.

I always wonder why people, who are so anti-god and claim that most of the bible is a metaphor, continue to separate the two.

Do we not have enough archeological evidence that the bible is AT LEAST, in part, a history book of some sort? I may question its timelines, as well as theism in general, but that doesn't mean its all lies. 50,000 years from now someone is going to find a blueray copy of one of our "science fiction" movies that contain just enough "facts" and they'll be having a similar debate. And they'll be right too - some if it is fake, some of it is fact, some of it is prophecy, and some of it is a metaphor for something else.

While I understand a lot of the bible is a metaphor, that alone implies that SOMETHING exists or existed, that 6,000 year old people (who may not have had the best vocabulary) labeled god. What it was, should be left to the religious debate forum. I know my effort to point this out to people is futile, but thats where I stand.

I believe in the bible as much as I believe in nostradamus or cayce or jeanne dixon or even "the day after tomorrow" - none will ever be 100% correct in my quantum reality - but if they can shed light on even one scenario - well go head with your bad self! Rock n Roll!!!

With that being said, I did read your entire OP, though I skipped the videos. I have no arguments with you whatsoever, I'm forced to take a "wait and see" approach. Like most people, I feel in my heart that we are on the verge of something HUGE, and like you, I seek answers in many places. I appreciate your outlining this for us to see. I actually think it started with 911. The War On Terror is no doubt the 27 year war (or however long) that Nostradamus prophesied about.

Anyone, who it better than normal with the powers of reflection, can easily reflect back to the day of 911 and the days since and see just how much that 1 incident has affected the whole world. That 1 day has brought more security & laws to the whole world. You can just see it.

And now, 911 has led us here...to the Middle East, the place where it will all take place and go down, and start.

The USA is doing exactly what the prophesies say...they are stretching their forces too thin and we will not be able to protect ourselves after the world wide disaster.

It's all falling into perfect place. The world-wide economic collapse is upon us which will lead to the One World Government and the Mark Of The Beast.

I didn't think I'd live to see the End Times, but with Pope John Paul stating we are living in them as well as Pope Benedict saying the same, then the economy tumbling, tornadoes and weather becoming much more dangerous, and the USA going into multiple countries in the Mid East, well, it's quite easy to see where we are heading because of the desires of greedy and evil men. The Bible says they will pluck the merchants of the earth dry, yeah, I'd say that is happening.

We are almost there. Whatever God everyone believes in out there, better pray and keep those prayers flowing into that River of Time where all of our boats are heading.

OP,why are you quoting the Old Testament,when Christ suppossedly entered into a new covernant and wiped the slate clean.Hence the New Testament? He is said to mention enemy's,or new enemy's of Christian's, but doe's not name them or describe them as those as in the Old Testament.Christainity is supposed to be about love and turning the other cheek, even embrasing your enemy's and sinner's a like.Yet spread over numerous posts of yours over the years you have expressed alot of hatred towards Muslems.That does not seem very loving or Christian to me?

Hey Jarhead great post! I like to keep an eye on my Bible prophesy as well. I believe the stage is in finaql construction waiting for the opening night of the show. maybe thats because we are able to understand and question more than the basic things. and how do you even know what happened way back then anyway? just cos of some bones that came out of the ground a few million years ago. whats to say there wasnt other humanoid life around a billion years.

You can do it with any book and any story. There are some interesting prophesies based on LOTR or Frank Herbert's Dune.

People believe what they want to believe, so I choose not to.

I to was raised in the church and heard all the sermons, prophecies, extc. I also studied for years and countless hours on my own and realized the bible is filled with contradictions and much of it was either mis interpreted or mis translated. The bible has been getting re written over and over again since its first book came into existence. They used to remove and add books at will, twist passages around to fit a specific agenda. Just because a book has prophecies that were supposedly written 2000-3000 yrs ago, doesnt mean some of the stuff wasnt added along the way as the events were happening. The gullable fools who swallow this stuff without any research and their lifestyle is usually equal to or worse than the people they criticize. I never call myself a christian, because the majority of us have made a mockery of Christ and His teachings. Just because you can win an argument and fool some people because you have a book that claims to prophecy events, doesnt mean you have a clue as to who wrote the book. True followers of Christ, would have no property, cheap clothing, no automobiles, debate religious leaders daily, help the poor, sick, depressed and would NEVER ever support a war.

What God gave to us in prophecy he will honor no matter what testament it is in. The Old Testament is still very relevant in some terms. WHat Jesus did is sacrifice himself...aka a blood sacrifice...which was Jewish law for forgiveness of sin and over rode Moses' law of stoning, eye for eye, ect. For sins committed. ONly Jesus' blood could do that. Jesus did not invalidate the prophets of the old testament...he paid for our sins so that we may go to heaven through him by believing he was the true messiah...which he was proved to be. I encourage you to read the Bible and learn more about it.

I never heard or figured it'd have Jewish roots, plus it's doubtful Gaddafi would be that anyway, especially when a resolution was passed yesterday declaring that once caught, he and his remaining son plus a minister in the Libyan government would all be tried for war crimes and genocide against their own people for decades.

Seems more likely they'll be tried and executed by the War Crimes tribunal at The Hague and Israel or someone within will stupidly make a comment on a social media site about it being a happy day for freedom lovers. That in turn will cause the war mentioned and as usual, the majority of ATS will flock to attack Israel, any chance they can get right?

You analysis is based on an ethnocentric bias and a false understanding of the nature of the Gog & Magog concept. Also, it is Israel who is the aggressor and the Goliath, not the Muslims nations. Israel has the nuclear weapons and the great powerful US and western nations at its back.

The Gog and Magog you speak of is originally based on a geographical area to a degree, but is a concept that is a religio-metaphysical idea of violence and aggression as an archetype in geo-political aggression. That being the case, all peoples have in their being the possibility of acting out this archetype when they indulge in military and cultural aggression towards other people. If we analyze recent history, it is the Euro-Christians who have murdered millions of Native Americans and Africans and enslaved the non European races through colonialism. Britain and the American empires are particularly guilty of this.

Recall it was Winston Churchill who labels the Western Europeans e.g. the Nazis, for instance, and the European aggression towards third world peoples, and their wars of modern times thathave been the most destructive in history, as the Gog and Magog of this epoch.

I do differ with you a little but as too the time line of Ezk 38 and 39.
I the way I read it, Ezk 38 happens at the end of the millennium, whereas as Ezk 39 takes place at the end of the tribulation as the Battle of Armageddon.

I will explain if you are interested, but your order of events seems plausible as well. We both know these passages WILL take place, just maybe not in the order we read it.

This always cracks me up, the second a bible prophecy or verse is mentioned all the haters pour out of the woodwork. This thread is not about religion but rather a prophecy from thousands of years ago that is unfolding before our eyes. All of you morons who are so quick to jump to the conclusions, are completely missing the point of the thread while distracting members who are actually interested in the topic.

I don't think prophecy is any coincidence. The ruler's of our planet go back into most royal families if not all. All presidents but one are traced back to one king from england by the name of "John 'Lackland' Plantagenet", he was king from 1199-1216 ad. And then it goes even further back to egyption royalty. Of course most people on this site are closed minded to this idea that prophecy is simply fulfilled by the ruling powers of the world. But if you take the time and dig in you will find an astounding amount of connections and prophecy being fulfilled. This does not only apply to to the bible niether. Great post.
