How could you not like this song?

I like it myself, but as a piece of songwriting it has a giant, fatal flaw.

It lacks an ending. The chord progression goes round in a never-ending circle.

This isn’t the same thing as a fade-out. In a fade-out, part of the recording of a song, often the chorus or ‘breakdown’, is repeated over and over at decreasing volume until the music becomes inaudible. The song itself, though, can normally be brought to a proper end, and usually is when it is performed on stage. I’ve heard amateur bands do live fade-outs of songs they cover, but those just sound silly.

‘Little Wing’ is different. It cannot be brought to an end in a musically satisfying way unless you write or improvise an ending for it yourself.

Anyway, the most beautiful song ever is Jeff Buckley’s version of 'Hallelujah’.

Nice one man, Hendrix is brilliant, and this is just one of those really special tracks. The guitar work truly resonates with me, it seems so tender, so honest. Great post!
