It would seem to be common sense, and yet apparently it is not. From time to time people will post an ambiguous title and then launch into some theory, opinion or interpretation without providing any background or context. These posts are usually met with confusion and/or derision, which must be a great frustration to the poster. If you have something important to say, make sure the background, situation or context clear before developing your argument. There are many arcane topics of discussion here and members with diverse backgrounds, experience and knowledge. You cannot assume that everyone is already familiar with the information you possess. Rather than point to actual examples (which might embarrass someone) I will provide a hypothetical example of a bad OP and the same OP presented in a productive way:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------

Title: dsk set up!!!
Body: This is outrageous! What are the odds of finding a francophone maid?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -----------

Not everyone is familiar with the nick-name "DSK," and by not capitalizing it comprehension is further challenged. A casual reader might think the thread is about installing computer equipment. There is nothing in the body of the OP to clarify the subject, making the reference to the maid incomprehensible. Now let's try it again so that everyone can play:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------

Title: Was International Money Fund chief framed?
Body: Dominique Strauss-Kahn, head of the IMF was arrested in New York on charges of rape:

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, head of the International Monetary Fund and the French left's great hope for president, has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting and attempting to rape a maid in a New York hotel.

Strauss-Kahn, 62, was taken from the first-class cabin of a Paris-bound Air France flight on the tarmac at JFK airport by plainclothes officers before Manhattan police formally arrested him on charges of criminal sexual act, attempted rape and unlawful imprisonment.

In addition to his role at the IMF, DSK is a major player on the French political scene, considered to be a prime choice for Socialist challenger to President Sarkosy. What has been under-reported is this curious co-incidence:

In dozens of interviews with people who know her or are familiar with her life, the woman, now 32, is portrayed as an unassuming and hard-working single mother. The interviews were conducted in New York and in her homeland, Guinea, with relatives, neighbors, co-workers and former employers. The woman herself has stayed out of public view in recent weeks and has not spoken to reporters.

The woman who accused SDK was a native French speaker! What are the odds that an important French politician would "accidentally" find a French speaking maid in his room?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -----------

As you can see, the second version explains itself as it goes along and is likely to generate a more interesting thread. Okay, I'm off my high horse now.

To be honest, most of my thread titles are either i.) bang on, self explanatory and to the point or ii) worded vaguely in reflection of the wide range of opinions I'd expect to receive on said topic.
