Allegedly, Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil and the image of the devil is next to him on this pic...

I would say that by selling your soul, you have given up your free will and must do the bidding of whoever you sold your soul to- no second thoughts, no second chances. I think this would probably also extend into the afterlife as well.

Do you think it is possible for your left hand to sell the rest of your body to... umm... the postman?

I apologise if I sound facetious, I am actually being serious.

Your soul is not a commodity that you can trade. You don't "own" your soul. If anything it works the other way. You are an expression of your soul. So there is no way for you to sell that which is far greater than you.

Maybe you can choose to believe you sold your soul to the devil and have all kinds of interesting experiences as a result of that illusion. You might feel more powerful. You might open yourself to attracting more wealth. You might be willing to behave in more self-centred or even "evil" ways. But that is all just you enacting your freedom of choice. Your soul was never negotiated by you.

My 2c. Which you may spend whichever way you like. :-)

I tend to lean towards this thinking, however I think that it is possible to "sell your soul" in a karmic sense- embracing the dark side of life, and paying the price for doing so.

Right, that's close to what I think as well. Personally I believe in God, Satan and the concept of souls, and I believe the basic premise of most of the Bible although I leave room for human error in some of the translational particulars. But I do believe that the message is clear that one can be redeemed right up until the moment of death (and perhaps even after although this is not addressed), and as such "selling your soul" is really more akin to giving your allegiance rather than executing a bound contract. The thief on the cross next to Jesus was redeemed just before his death even though he lived a life of evil and did nothing himself to deserve redemption. Likewise I believe that even someone who "sells their soul to the devil" can be redeemed.

well the person you were talking to is not the only one... there are many artists out there (mostly from the MTV and thepop-culture scene) who have said they have sold their souls to the devil

he may have sounded like he was joking or he wasn't serious, but there are some serious people out there who have claimed they have done it..

i have no idea what the process is or what the terms are but i believe it is possible

It's all about sacrifice.

We're not talking about playing with a uijji board and drinking goats blood.

We are talking about killing little forest animals.... and drinking their blood.

If you really want to know how far the bloody rabbit hole goes, you'll have to pay a visit to your friend again.

Go to his house, snoop around in his room. Take some notes:

Taxidermy? What is the quality of his stuffed furry friends? If they are shoddily sewn together, he's most likely just a psychopath. But actually in some cases, Satanic Psychopaths are known to make the best stuffed animals.
(See: Psycho, or Santa and his Elves = Teddy Bear - As in, What Happened to Roosevelt.)

Check his book selection. Does he own the Catcher in the Rye? If so, that's actually pretty normal. Now - if he owns more than 5 Catcher in the Rye books (must be hard cover) you will then know that you are dealing with a Satanist. But once again, this can be confused with MK Ultra test subjects, so do not be quick to judge.

Lastly, look for small figurines. Owls especially. Maybe some antlers on his wall, or in his closet (could be next to his secret shrine). Shrunken heads are very rare, as most don't know how to shrink them properly, so if you do end up finding one, he most likely bought it off of eBay.

--- And remember, when you're by yourself thinking, "I'd do anything for ______ to happen" - and it happens later that day/week - Remember who you owe. (And the Universe is a big place).

Hope this helped!

ABSOLUTLY NOT THIS ISNT POSSIBLE. YOUR "FRIEND" WAS JUST MESSING AROUND WITH YOU. SOMETIMES I WONDER ABOUT SOME OF THESE THREADS. .. . THEY CAN GET TO BE A BIT RIDICULOUS.

Can't be done; give you the same answer as someone that once asked if I thought penis pumps worked, " Nope, it it did, we'd all run out and buy one at age 14 and our first jobs would be in the porn industry".

So many sheep here speaking about accepting christ, angels, demons, all with some sort of biblical reference. I've also seen some people here that think their one-line responses will be paid attention to in the slightest bit. Have any of you anything to back-up your so-called responses? Can any of you respond with an intelligent non-indoctrinated set of sentences? I swear the number of religion cooks and wannabe informed people in here completely ruins this thread. Tell me, what in the hell have any of you even studied on the topic of selling your soul? Have you even done any quality research to think that any biblical answer would suffice? Are you familiar with a similar concept being practiced anywhere else in the world which PREDATES Biblical ideas? How about locations which were never connected to it yet share common ideas in terms of soul sacrifice? You dont know squat. To quote a famous philosopher, you silly uneducated need to stay with the herd and stay out of the way of the thinkers.

Can't believe in one without the other.. IMHO

I think it's entirely possible, but I would think the devil would be picky about who's souls he would want.. I mean why would he want to buy a soul he is going to have for free anyway?

It is possible the guy was refering to something he did that made him feel so bad that he was using the analogy that, "he sold his soul to the devil." He may be bearing a terrible burden of guilt for a crime or heinous act. Perhaps it was better that you did not find out.

As far as your question goes, IMO, yes, I think you can. However, like many posters here have stated, he will not take just anyone.

First, you have got to believe that there is a God, and a Devil. Without that belief, there is no question to begin with.

Second, I think you have to have a working knowledge and understanding of the reality of good(God) and evil(Devil) and be an active participant thereof. If your lifestyle doesn't push the agenda of good, of what interest are you to the Devil? You are not a candidate for said "sales." If, however, you partake of evil or dabble in both, you are not a threat to his domion, so he has no reason to "purchase your allegiance," as you are already furthering the Devil's purposes, or not affecting the battle anyway.

Third, I think you will absolutely know, when this transaction takes place, he will manefest himself to you and you will be aware of the consequences.

Food for thought. Thanks for the interesting topic!

I think since we don't know everything that there is a chance and a possibility there could be a God, a devil, and an afterlife. But let me ask you this, if you COULD sell your soul than there is obviously an afterlife and a God. If there is than what is it to gain this world for a short time and to lose your soul for an eternity?

If you think about it we aren't on this Earth for a long time. You may think 70 years is a long time but is it? On the grand scale you will gain the world for less then 50 years and than it is off to burn, if there is a hell.

But people are quick to dismiss anything that we haven't proven yet, just like the Christians were quick to dismiss the world being round. The Universe is big enough for weird things and supernatural things to occur so dismissing a soul is actually a premature guess based on our understanding and our perception of reality.

But remember the universe is a big place and we haven't found everything or a partial of everything.

Selling one's soul to the Devil is a trick Christian Secret Societies created to get agents they recruit to believe that they are obligated to follow the orders of their handlers that they send them through false signs pretending to be from demons, evil spirits, and the Devil.

The idea is that if they do not follow the orders they think is coming from demons, evil spirits, or the Devil that they go straight to hell and eternal damnation. This illusion is created by false miracles and signs they create through secret sciences they suppressed from humanity.

Its a smokes and mirros show that recruits thinks are demons that are actually Christian secret society handlers, which act as an intelligence organization with deluded operatives that are handled in this way. I can tell you this with certainty

It's always been my position that none of us "HAVE" souls........We ARE souls.
What we have are bodies.
Just my 2 cents.

The only way to sell your sol to Satan (in a manner of speaking) is to become a son of perdition. To do that you must first know God then turn against Him, as Cain did. Satan looses all his people at Judgment time, except his original followers that were kick out of Heaven and the sons of perdition. Why anyone would want to deal with Satan is beyond me, his goal is to destroy all of the human race (including his followers) and the earth. Why? Because we all had a hand in throwing him out of Heaven after the war in Heaven, He will never forgive us for that.Duh!

You're only 14, I'm not gonna say learn to move on cause I have that trouble myself but trust me, someone will fall into your lap that will be much better than whoever you're pining for.

As far as the topic, not sure, could be possible if you truly believe in it. I'd love my life to be better, a whole lot better and I considered it a few times over the years but I just don't wanna have the potential of dying or suffering for eternity because of it so I'll wait and see if this supposed "God" shows his face to help me out a little. That's if he exists which considering I resorted to praying to help me out of my situation and hasn't worked yet, I'd consider a definite "no" on that one.
