Alien message may be in our DNA.

I think the aliens encoded the message in the "Nirvana" album.
One just has to carefully sort through the digital bits in the recording of "Teen spirit" to understand the workings of the Cosmos.

Seriously, it would be interesting to know what the "junk" DNA 's purpose was.

Even if it is just evolutionary waste.

Some so-called junk dna is thought to be involved in 'epigenetics' and gene regulation mechanisms. Some people have theorized that it might be involved in controlling all sorts of different rates involved in an organisms development. Its been studied for a long time, googling around on junk dna should prove fruitful.
