So is this man a mad butcher of his own people or what ? People are so quick to judge and follow the first thing they hear.I was in the middle of something else when I came across this.I have not watched it all as I need to finnish what I am doing. But it pretty much confirms the Gaddaffi I know.Enjoy or flame that's your choice, use it while you still can.

This is rather interesting, as I have just recently heard of John Perkins and his Economic Hitman stuff.

I don't know much about Libyan infrastructure but it will be interesting to read about. Thanks for posting that video. I'm off to learn something.

I don't have access to enough unbiased information about Gaddaffi to be able to form an opinion.

I'm not really concerned about that. I don't need to know anything about Gaddaffi presently other than I'm pretty dang sure he isn't carpet bombing MY country. I do believe my country is bombing HIS though.

Stick a photo of Gaddaffi and Obama in front of me and ask "Pick the most dangerous terrorist?". I would without hesitation select "my" President, Obama.

Yeah, I'd say that's about right.

Hopefully you are not insinuating--by using quotes around the word corrupt--that he is indeed innocent of such charges.

While I disagree with the United States involving itself with the domestic affairs of foreign nations, I do applaud the people of Libya for finally standing up to such deviancy and cowardice. Gaddafi is a stain on the Earth, and it is the duty of his own citizens to make sure he is no longer capable of spreading his nutty, repressive ideologies across Libya.

I did watch the video in the OP. Thanks for asking.

I was responding to an individual who decided to imply that Gaddafi was anything less than an insane dictator. Which he is.

And you been to Libya i guess to inform us that Gaddafi is a dictator ?

No, I have not been to Libya. However, I have done my own research on the topic, and I spent my entire Spring quarter studying the event in my International Relations class at the University I attend. So I would say that I have at least some knowledge on the subject.

If you believe that Gaddafi is anything less than an oppressive dictator, then you are entirely misled. If you are too lazy to do the research on your own and would like me to present some credible sources to further educate you on the subject, then by all means, ask.

And you aplaude to which people ? Remains of Al - Qaeda in Iraq financed by CIA ?

I support the individuals who have been subjected to decades of tyrannical rule at the hands of a nutcase dictator with the intelligence of an 11 year old.

What you are implying in your second question is not only illogical, but it has absolutely no credible basis. What do members of Al-Qaeda in Iraq have to do with citizens in Libya? And how in the hell is the CIA involved? Please, enlighten me.

September 1, 1969: Moammar Al-Gadhafi and a group of army officers overthrew king Idris's government and changed Libya's official name from The Kingdom of Libya to The Libyan Arab Republic which to be governed by The Revolutionary Command Council lead by Moammar Al-Gadhafi. A temporary constitution was declared to replace the Kingdom's constitution which was adopted December 25, 1951 and updated October 7, 1963. The change happened in a peaceful way. The day is celebrated every year as The Revolution Anniversary. The Libyan Revolution was supported by most of the Libyan people and huge demonstrations were held next day and continued for days.

September 8, 1969: Mahmoud Solaiman Al-Magherbi is asked to form a government.

September 13, 1969: Moammar Al-Gadhafi was appointed President of the Revolutionary Command Counsil.

September 29, 1969: Libya announces that the agreements covering British and American bases in Libya (signed by king Idris's government in 1953 and 1955 respectively) will not be renewed.

November 14, 1969: Libya takes over 51% of the capital of foreign banks.

Ahh, pull out a chopped up interview from the Democratic shill Wesley Clark. Nice move, Dan.

You need to realize that Clark retired from the military in 2000, and that this video is from 2007. In between those years (2000-2007), Clark sought the Democratic Party nomination for President in 2004, but ultimately withdrew and threw his support behind John Kerry. In 2007, he endorsed Hilary Clinton before ultimately throwing his support behind Barack Obama.

Since his retiring from the military, Clark has spent large amounts of his civilian life as a shill for the Democratic Party, which ultimately means that he is an ardent opponent of anything Republican. In short, he is anti-Republican policies, anti-Republican candidates, and especially anti-Republican presidents. It's important to know that Clark, much like Michael Moore, participated in rabid hate-mongering of anything non-Democrat during the Bush years by catering to the radical parts of left wing ideology. Clark, like Moore, was hell-bent on keeping Republicans out of the White House. In fact, this interview was done with just that in mind; an event to shove Democratic policies and beliefs down the crowds’ throat in order to drum up support for Barack Obama.

Now that is not to say that Republicans are not corrupt; they are. However, and I'm sure you would agree with me on this, it is painfully obvious that the Democrats are just as corrupt and flawed. Remember who the highlight of this video is: Wesley Clark, an unapologetic Democrat with a Democrat infused agenda. When this video was made, Clark definitely had at least two glaringly obvious sources of bias against the Bush administration--namely his Democratic Party loyalism, and also his personal desire to make money selling books and giving interviews. In other words, sensationalism sells, and Clark knows this.

There is also a lot of room for mis-interpretation in this short video (in fact, Clark himself may be the one doing the misinterpreting). For example, it seems very plausible to me that the "seven-country takeover/invasion/destruction" memo that he describes was NOT some sort of definitely settled, long-term plan, but only one out of multiple different "contingency scenarios" that had been dreamt up by officers doing PowerPoint presentations. You have to understand that this is what military officers do for a living.

So in short, Clark may indeed be telling the truth about seeing the memos (in that there actually were such memos), but he's also putting a "spin" on the interpretation and significance of the memos because he knows exactly what his interviewer wanted to hear. He is pushing an anti-Republican agenda, insinuating that if a Democrat were in office (which one is), this supposed plan would not happen.

I have always known in my heart that he is of more worth to the World than our elitist dictators want us to believe. I am fully prepared now to scorn our Government until its own undoing comes to take it away!

I hereby ban NATO from my World! I ban NATO for this injustice! I ban them all to the Flames of which they come; cast them all into the Leviathan now and forever more.

I say these words but I do know that Gadhafi (my personal spelling choice) will be hunted by the badgers who think they are pure. He is one of the World's Witnesses! Bless him in his most trying hour as Our Lord will lift him to his place in the Kingdom so that he may battle the worst of them all.

I am in Awe with him as he is Moammar Gadhafi the Witness! I am truly blessed to have known of him in my short life on this planet, if even from afar!

Yes, I did study the topic on Libya, and no, this does not mean that I know everything about Libya. I simply said that my intensive research does warrant some knowledge on the situation. I never claimed to have known more than you.

Every Libyan has better health care than you ..nothing to say more .

While this is blatantly untrue, it is totally off-topic and does not add anything to the conversation.

Libyan rebel commander admits his fighters have al-Qaeda links

One Libyan rebel commander admitted that his fighters have al-Qaeda links. This has also been addressed by the United States..

"We have seen flickers in the intelligence of potential al-Qaida," Adm. James Stavridis, the U.S. commander who oversees NATO forces, said on Capitol Hill last week. "But at this point, I don't have detail sufficient to say that there's a significant al-Qaida presence or any other terrorist presence in and among these folks."

So, while there has been a measured al-Qaeda presense, there is no reason to believe that the Libyan rebels are all al-Qaeda operatives. In fact, there is reason to believe that the vast majority of them are not.

C.I.A. Agents in Libya Aid Airstrikes and Meet Rebels

This is a perfect example as to why you should read your own links before posting them. In the link you provided, there is absolutely nothing that says that the CIA agents are assisting the rebels. They are trying to gather information on the rebels in order to obtain a better understanding of their actions and intentions. From your own link:

In addition, the American spies are meeting with rebels to try to fill in gaps in understanding who their leaders are and the allegiances of the groups opposed to Colonel Qaddafi, said United States government officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the classified nature of the activities. American officials cautioned, though, that the Western operatives were not directing the actions of rebel forces.

CIA Operatives Have Been on the Ground in Libya for Weeks

Read your own link for a better understanding of this. The CIA is NOT aiding the Libyan rebels. They are gathering information on them.

I need to point out, once again, that I am totally against any American involvement with Libya. I believe that Obama violated the Constitution by launching unilateral airstrikes on Libyan land, and it sickens me to think that we are involved in another Middle Eastern quagmire. With that said, I do believe that the people of Libya have every right to stand up to their oppressive government. However, the United States needs to stay out of it.

best you go and read the whole page, but here is the gist of it
west point study .....libyan rebels are alCIAduh

It turns out that there is, in the form of a December 2007 West Point study examining the background of foreign guerrilla fighters — jihadis or mujahedin, including suicide bombers — crossing the Syrian border into Iraq during the 2006-2007 timeframe, under the auspices of the international terrorist organization Al Qaeda. This study is based on a mass of about 600 Al Qaeda personnel files which were captured by US forces in the fall of 2007, and analyzed at West Point using a methodology which we will discuss after having presented the main findings. The resulting study1 permits us to make important findings about the mentality and belief structures of the northeastern Libyan population that is furnishing the basis for the rebellion, permitting important conclusions about the political nature of the anti-Qaddafi revolt in these areas....

...The anti-Qaddafi Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) Merges with al Qaeda, 2007

The specific institutional basis for the recruitment of guerrilla fighters in northeastern Libya is associated with an organization which previously called itself the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG). During the course of 2007, the LIFG declared itself an official subsidiary of al Qaeda, later assuming the name of Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). As a result of this 2007 merger, an increased number of guerrilla fighters arrived in Iraq from Libya. According to Felter and Fishman, “The apparent surge in Libyan recruits traveling to Iraq may be linked the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group’s (LIFG) increasingly cooperative relationship with al-Qaeda, which culminated in the LIFG officially joining al-Qaeda on November 3, 2007.”8 This merger is confirmed by other sources: A 2008 statement attributed to Ayman al-Zawahiri claimed that the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group has joined al-Qaeda.9
