More recently, I did get a woman's voice just repeating the word, "Brown", as though it was a distasteful word. If it was meant to be a message, I didn't understand its relevance. Gordon Brown came into power days later, but if it was meant to be with regard to that, it was pretty vague and pointless imo.

Numbers stations. Kinda sounds like someone was subliminally trying to manipulate the public's subconscious... to vote for Brown, doesn't it? I wonder what frequency they pull that sh*t on???

sorry, i don't.

i know about it because my psychologist discussed it with me. we also breifly discussed such things in the general psychology course i took in college.

personally i'll sometimes hear "voices" or music where there is none if another constant sound is present. in my case, it is because my brain over processes sensory information, then it links certain notes and tones to similar patterns that people use in conversation, or a musical piece.

just the other day a semi truck's brakes squeaked out three notes of mozart's "turkish march". the notes were real and accurate, but most people's brains just filter it out instead of examining it extensively. i enjoy alot of the extra gifts i have because i'm autistic, though there is a cost.

if you hear vague sounds that seem like voices, and you strain harder to hear them, you're forcing your brain to look for something that isn't really there, but it responds and will become more sensitive to the tones you hear and speech patterns that might come up in conversation.

it's similar to someone who suffers from paranoia seeing connections that don't actually exist. their exaggerated fear attunes their brains to look for things that they find suspicious. vague voices/music could just be that part of a brain working too hard.

no. those are hypnogogic hallucinations. they're harmless, though they can either be very scary, or very beautiful.

Hypnagogic or hypnopompic hallucinations are visual, tactile, auditory, or other sensory events, usually brief but occasionally prolonged, that occur at the transition from wakefulness to sleep (hypnagogic) or from sleep to wakefulness (hypnopompic).

Thanks. If my mind created them, I wonder why the words had no significance for me.

I have often heard my name called right prior to falling asleep. It's annoying. Usually, I'll ignore it unless it was very clear. Then I'll scope the house out, just in case.

One of the weird things I have been experiencing lately as I hit the hay though, is I will hear a explosion type sound in my head and it'll actually make my body do a quick spasm/jump. Now that, I find odd.

Yeah, what is that exsplosion type noise? that happens to me. If you try to stay asleep after you hear that noise, just pay attention after that and you get these really, real like wicked dreams that are like real time. I had a dream like state and i remember being in this building. The floors were a green marble and the walls were also a marble look, but only grey with white specks. I went up to the counter and asked the lady to go to room 11235. She looked at me puzzled and said that there was no room numbers that went that high. I then asked her where the water fountain was and she said around the corner. I went around the corner and got a drink next to the elevators. I pushed the button, the elevator opened and i got in and the doors shut. I pushed the B button and held it in for 5 seconds and a light with two arrows appeared. I pushed the down arrow and a screen popped up saying level B. I then pushed the down arrow button again for 5 seconds and the down arrow flashed. I then pushed the down arrow and a screen popped up. There was a small keypad and i punched in 11235. The elevator then plunged down fast and i could see the numbers click off. I was scared. Just before the elevator reached 11235 it slowed down and proceeded to 11235. I felt sick at this point when the elevator doors opened, all i wanted was more water. I got out and next to the elevators i got a drink and turned around and walked out into the hall. I looked down the hall and it seemed to go on and on and i could see figures far away moving across the hall. I looked the other way, but i could not see down it because the hall down that way took a slow corner or a big circle like. I went down the hall that went into a circle and finally after a long walk went straight again on and on. I slowly walked down the hall and i peeked into one of the windows that had the blinds open. It looked much like a dentist office only the chair/bed different. I walked on. I then found this larger door and a button, so i pushed it. When the door opened a gush of air blew past me and i walked in. I was in a a large room over looking on top with a glass in front of me. I looked thru the window and saw a factory with robots making something down below. I decided to walk down the hall and observe thru the windows. I found a staircase so i walked down. What i saw was disturbing. High up it looks like a factory, but on ground level, i could see what was being made. In front of me was this metal hand thing. It was holding what looked similar like a hand. I then looked around and saw other parts being moved around and worked on by other machines. I walked a bit and watched this go on and then all of a sudden i started hearing this weird noise. I saw these beings and i tried to run to the way i came in but they were all comming from that way. I ran and ran and i got into this dark area and went up the stairs, opened the door and ran into this female looking robot thing. I got up and it said come with me, i can help you. come, hurry. We got into an elevator and went up. It pushed me out and said stay here ill be back. About 5 min and the elevator opened. The thing said, humans are not allowed down there. We went back into the elevator and it took me up to level B. It said this is as far as i dare go. Go away from here, do not come back. It pushed me out of the elevator into the hall and then the elevator doors closed. I walked for a little bit in confusion and then i was startled by a voice that said, what are you doing down here. I turned around and this guy with a dust mop said, what are you doing down here. The stores are closed. He took me up to ground level and led me to the doors that lead outside. He pushed me out the doors and said, and don't come back. As i walked away, i found it odd that the janitor said, and Don't come back, just like that robotic looking thing said. I found it odd that the janitor said don't come back. Why would a janitor of a mall filled with stores to buy things say don't come back. I walked a bit and i heard something fall in the streets somewhere and then i all of a sudden i fell to the ground and i woke up with my cat on my stomach. It nocked down my water glass next to the bed. I pushed the cat off, cleaned up the mess and got a large drink of water. Those voices and things that went on, were as clear as day. DO dreams count.

That's a pretty freaky dream. Ya oughta post it in the Dreams forum.

I have lucid dreams from time to time, but you posit a good question that I will pay attention to the next time I have what is called "Exploding head syndrome". Check out wiki...it even recognized though not understood by the medical community.

they do at some level. the current of anger could be a byproduct of a demanding and cold father figure that had authority over you, or general feelings of you failing at something, so anger is triggered in an attempt to motivate you. you telling it to go away is a conscious effort to dispel the unwanted emotions, and like with dreams, you have some control if you're aware of it.

more often than not i hear music playing, beautiful music. i can hear it crystal clear when it happens, but the next morning i can't remember how it went at all, just how beautiful it was. very much like how dreams seem so real and concrete, then you wake up and they feel vague, ethereal, and illogical.

I hear voices all the time, Ive lived in Vegas for about 6 years and I been hearing them for about two years. It all started when I got a little bit of fame around the city and this might sound crazy but Im not. I have had them threatening my life as well as my families. They like to repeat themselfs as if they are trying to make you go crazy. I know what Im hearing is real and believe me they speak all the time. They are kind of cool sometimes but once you get a little stress, they like to as I call it flip the skript. I think there are alot of people out there with the same problem, what they like to do is break you down!!! So Dont
