Well, damn,...There it is we should close this thread now. I mean it really thats not me being a smarta**.
You have put into words exactly what I have come to believe. Especially from talking with the othersideofthecoin.

They are a private industry, and if you don't like it do something else.

I understand your line of reasoning, and can relate. for me it's less about look and feeling like a coward and more about protecting my family, more specifically my daughter. If I am dead, how can I do my job?
But if the situation becomes so dire that I must act, believe me I will. Better to die trying than submitting to death.

I guess I have to wonder how to know when the situation is dire?
It's May 26, 2011...Terrorists have just taken over a plane....they claim they just want ransom money and that nobody will be hurt if you and everyone else stays in their seats. Sound familiar? Same thing was said on 9/11/2001. So do we assume that this time is different? Or based on real experience do we assume the worst? I'll be honest, I wouldn't find an armed terrorist to be a person worthy of my trust so I would assume the worst. So what do you do? Do you wait until it's too late to act? Or does your group decide to pick their moment and attack on your terms?
My point is that we can no longer assume that any armed terrorist is just in it for the ransom money. And this is my whole point.

The thing is terrorism moves so fast, every time we come up with a new effective tactic to prevent them getting bombs and guns onto planes they come up with something new. They have already moved on from body cavities, now some are having bombs surgically inserted inside them.

But your question specifically, currently I think it would be impossible to cavity search everyone going through a air port, another solution is called for probably some new technology. If however there is a justification for a cavity search then there is no problem with that, but I wouldn’t like it.

The unfortunate reality at the core of this entire thread is that aircraft in the absence of effective security measures is a easy target for terrorists that is a undeniable fact and one we all have to life with.

Just last week, my daughter was permitted to take aboard an airliner her cigarette lighter in her carry on luggage. Makes no sense to me.

An aircraft is an easy target....
So is a train.
A bus.
A boat.
A school.
A mall.
A skyscraper.
A hospital.
Our water supply.
Power plants.
A restaurant.
A stadium.
etc..
And any of these can cause just as much or more damage as a hijacked aircraft.
Living has risks.
The reality is that we cannot stop a determined enemy willing to sacrifice themselves to get to us. So we have to decide how we want to live: As slaves with a FALSE sense of security or as FREE AMERICANS with the knowledge that freedom has a price.

None of your arguments actually stand up.
I get it, you're afraid. A lot of people are. But that's no reason to give up your FREEDOM.

Here's the sad reality. The US will be successfully attacked again. After it happens, we must decide how to respond. Occupying a foreign country won't solve the problem. Hunting the terrorists will. If we make the cost too high for them, they'll stop attacking us. We're not in a war for freedom with these terrorists, we're in a war of survival. They don't want us to get out of the middle east, they want us to die.

In case you missed it:

I've saved far more lives by acting than by being a coward.

A guy robbed a bar once that my lady was in while I was outside checking something in my car. I saw him enter with a rifle, I'd had my eye on him from the moment I saw him because his spirit was very sketchy and set off my alarms. To ensure my lady's safety, I DID NOT disarm or interefere with him in any way. I shielded my spirit from him until I was about 8" away, well within his personal space, then unshielded and asked my lady if she was okay. Then I looked him in the eye and let him see my spirit unshielded, holding him for about four or five seconds, then went and sat back down by my lady and lit her cigarette and talked with her as if he were of no consequence, because he was nothing. He freaked a few seconds later and ran away.

I could do this because I could read his spirit and judge him correctly. When I showed him mine, he knew that I could have killed him where he stood, and would if he didn't leave. I judged that this was the safest way to deal with him, and I was correct.

You don't need to go "Rambo" to change a situation in your favor; violence is merely a tool, one of many available to someone with experience, training, and courage. I am very careful with other people's lives, and have saved quite a few from harm.

Only cowards will surrender their freedom for "security". Cowards are the ones who get you killed, not people who defend you.

We react to their tactics.
Someone puts a bomb in their shoes. Now we have to take off our shoes.
Someone puts a bomb in their underwear. Now we have to get felt up or have our junk scanned.
Someone has put a bomb in their body cavity. Now what? For the other 2 actions to be reasonable, the next logical action is to perform cavity searches. If you have a young son or daughter, will you help hold them down while TSA agents insert their hands into their body cavities to make you safe? YES or NO?

But your question specifically, currently I think it would be impossible to cavity search everyone going through a air port,

Why?

the reason they are groping people is simple,in the muslim world it is considered a grave offense to be touched or fondled in any way so they are uising this tactic to keep terrorist from getting on planes.it is not because of explosives the departmen t of homeland security is using this as a pretext to further strip away citizens rights and now the search for terrorists[now that they wont get on planes] has them turning their attentons to automobiles, trains, subways, and other modes of transportations. i definitely believe there are terr. cells just like there gangs and la raza and ku klux klan and everone else too.

I would rather have the risk of being blown up in a airplane than see my elders treated like this.

It is time to put a leash on the TSA.

I am tired of hearing about people complaining about the TSA!!!!
If people honestly have no clue what they're getting into and agreeing to when they buy an airline ticket then they need to pull their heads out of their asses.

This is thepost 911 world we live in now.
If you don't like it.....DON'T FLY!!!!!!

It's about freedom to travel FREELY within your own country. It's a right !

If enough people DON'T FLY then the problem WILL go away!!!!
If you DO FLY, then STFU about how badly you were treated when you go thru the TSA's molestation
checkpoints!!!!

Another defeatest attitude.
Yes lets not try to change a problem, lets just ignore it....

You could not be more wrong my friend.
I am all for fighting till the death against a corrupt and evil empire but the way to win this fight is by staying home, literally. If you choose not to stay home and choose to support a facist regime then don't complain when you get molested at the TSA checkpoints.

If everyone would stop flying in protest of the TSA then they would dissappear overnight.
It was possible to stop flying during the events of 911 because it was mandatory whether you liked it or not!!!
Well THIS is mandatory as well. This is our freedom and liberty at stake and it is mandatory that we all stop flying in protest of the TSA!! If you want something to happen you have to MAKE it happen!!!

This is not a defeatest attitude.
This is a warrior attitude.
We can WIN this battle.
Other battles in the future will not be so easily won.
It will be necessary to shed blood and it may need to be mine.
I am ok with that if need be. But this,.....this is a battle that can be won from the comfort of your own living room.

Well that's the million dollar question jfj123. Thats also why it is considered dynamic.
Many people train for years to handle these situations, and they fail. it isn't because they don't know what to do, it is because the situation did not favor them for the moment.

Finding that sweet spot, is part of the terror in being in a situation you can not control.
It is also called building a box you can not get out of. There is always going to be that "what if" what if", but until the time arrives it is impossible to know how things will unfold.

The next target of the TSA will be trains and subways followed by mass transit buses.
Then other venues such as stadiums, malls and schools.
Then additional monitoring will be added to phones, cars, etc...
Finally home inspections will happen.
All this will happen because we are lazy.
We don't need armed revolution to stop this.
All we need to do is vote. Tell our servants who work in washington and in the states that if they refuse to follow the will of the people, they will be removed from office. We can do this if we stand UNITED.
Does anyone even remember these words?
WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA...

Does this look familiar?
"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me. "

I agree but staying home may be just what they want.
I believe in confronting CONSTITUTIONAL violations.
If we all go to the airports and say no to the TSA, what would they do?
If every person flying got to the checkpoint and refused to go through the body scanner and refused an invasive pat down, what would they do? They would have to shut down all airports or let us through.
If they shut down all airports, the mega corps would lose BILLIONS in one single day.
We have to stand UNITED and peacefully confront injustices while we can do so peacefully.[

I am ok with that if need be. But this,.....this is a battle that can be won from the comfort of your own living room.

No battle can be won from your couch. I like your attitude in general but we need to be more in their face. We need to show them that they serve us and not the other way around. We need to actively protest.
Imagine what would happen if every person showed up at their scheduled flights and simply refuse to go through those 2 ILLEGAL procedures. A bloodless revolution in 1 day. The government would have no choice but to change how they handle airport security.

By inferring that the airlines, and by extension, the TSA can do whatever they want. However, had you made your point clearer (in your initial reply), perhaps then I'd known we were on the same page. Instead, you went on the attack, insulting and swearing, expecting ME to have made special note of all YOUR previous posts.

Unique snowflake that you are.

Classy.

As to your argument -- that if you don't like what the TSA do, then don't fly -- is hardly a viable solution, and ignoring the problem won't make it go away. BTW, general aviation (and by that I assume you mean private and chartered flights) may work in some cases, but could still be cost prohibitive or not do-able in others.

I might be out of line here, but the more I read these things the more they make me laugh. It is hilarious. And I don't mean hilarious that this lady received that treatment. Don't get me wrong. Poor lady.

I am laughing at these lines such as ''I could never believe this to happen on American soil''. It is just unprecedented. America has been the greenhouse for corruption since at least 100 years. I mean ..hello... you're telling me you didn't see this coming?

Besides, its about time you American's get to endure some #. You have been policing and genociding the world in the name of peace for so long now. Time to wake up.

The most hilarious I find is this mass apathy. People are just letting it happen. What a people.

Now don't get me wrong. I love Americans just as I love people in general.

The airlines CAN do whatever they want. It is their airport and their aircraft. Nobody can force me to provide transportation in my private vehicle and if I choose to transport someone I can attach any and all conditions that I wish to and it is up to the individual seeking transport whether or not they wish to accept them.

As for attack- your reply was not all touchy-feely / peace love & granola either. I respond in kind.

Why is it not a viable solution? Flying is a convenience- nothing more. General aviation is indeed more expensive but a T1 line is faster than dial up. If I want the speed of a T1 I pay for it- why should travel be any different?
