They didn´t need 6 Years to "Investigate" this, they waited for the right Time to show the "Results". I´d like to think, that this Lebanon Hairi thing (together with the Situation in Syria) is just another Chess Piece...probably to force a Reaction from Iran.

Without Syria and Lebanon,Iran doesn´t have many Allies left,do they?

Thanks. I pressed reply but the message was huge so I tried to delete the old messages, then the format was all jacked up. Won't happen again.

Opinions on this thread are welcome from all as the subject matter is important to everyone. I usually don't interfere but can we please refrain from name calling? It does nothing but derail us from a subject that has the potential to unfold in all of our backyards, regardless of our geographical location and cultural beliefs.... and that subject is all out war.

This has been an incredibly informative thread and the continued momentum of new posts has been inspiring.

Thanks in advance.

Star for you! I had someone tell me the other day that they raised the draft age to 37. Anyone know if this is true or not, I can't seem to find it? If so, I would guess they would institute the draft again with our military strung out every where.

Turkey to create military 'buffer zone' within Syria for refugees

Government sources told a leading Turkish newspaper that soldiers could be sent in to Syria to set up a "safe haven" under plans being considered should the flood of those fleeing the fighting worsened.

"We would close the border but we cannot turn our back," a Turkish official told the newspaper, Hurriyet. "If chaos starts, then we will have to form a security zone or a buffer zone inside Syrian territory."

Me thinks Syrians, knowing this, should start flooding into Turkey to force Turkey to go in and overthrow Assad.

Pakistan says :
Pakistan tells US to leave 'drone' attack base

Pakistan told the United States to leave a remote desert air base reportedly used as a hub for covert CIA drone attacks, Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar was quoted by state media as saying Wednesday.

US says :
US rejects demands to vacate Pakistan's drone base

The United States is rejecting demands from Pakistani officials that American personnel abandon a military base used by the CIA to stage drone strikes against suspected militants, US officials told Reuters.

The only idiot I see is you. I have come to that conclusion because only an idiot would result to personal attacks instead of actually attacking the content of the post.

At no time have I said Ghadfi is a hero. At no time have I claimed he is innocent of any wrong doing. What I am saying is that it is none of the US Governments business to get involved. If the people in Libya want Ghadfi removed... then let them remove him. Why should the US spend millions and millions of dollars to do it?

FACT: The Public was told we were going to Libya for Humanitarian Support. To help people. However, dropping bombs on a country is not a Humanitarian mission... that is an act of war.

Whether people like it or not, a world war would most likely end the US economic problems as it did during ww2. Being one who has been unemployed for a year now, I would welcome the job of painting a tank or riveting an airplane.
People often times forget or now-a-days, do not understand what a TRUE war does for the economy, people think we are broke, and we are with the economy as it is right now, however if we move into a real wartime economy, our country will flourish again.

World War II is often credited with helping the United States to finally emerge from the Great Depression by bolstering the economy by unprecedented levels. Production of war supplies, increased government control and decreasing unemployment expanded the U.S. economy during WWII. Many factors affected the U.S. economy during WWII, but the result was unquestionable -- the U.S. emerged as the economic superpower after the war ended. If war gets me back to work, as much as I hate to say it, I am all for it.

I am not afraid of nuclear weapons anymore, I was spoon fed all of the dangers and the reality of nukes all throughout the 80's, and if it does go nuclear, we are all dead anyways, but if it stays conventional,
I will be employed and we all will be saving our pennies and donating them for bullet casings.
I would be able to grow a victory garden in the same spot my great aunt did, and my house, which I recently discovered was made specifically to withstand a nuclear blast in the 50's, might actually get to use its intended purpose. (My great aunt and her husband were very "paranoid" as was almost everyone else in the 50's/60's and had the basement designed by gov standards to withstand a nuclear blast and fallout.

Yeah right, we all know now it isn't possible, but in order to make the population feel protected they offered assessments and suggestions to make your house nuke safe. Really interesting reading if you can locate some of the old 50's/60's gov issued information given to home owners. It basically tells you how to barricade yourself in your basement and die )

I guess my point being, if ww 3 does go red hot, I will be ready and waiting with whatever job I get to do to help my country win, as we all (in the USA) did during WW2. It is a generation that is all but gone now, so most of us younger generations do not understand what the war did to and for us as a country, perhaps this is the only way out of our economic woes.

Alright it's not worth arguing and name calling. as Jude11 said there are more important things than devolving to insults. I shouldn't have started, but I won't continue.

The whole topic should be a separate thread entirely and only distracts from this one.

No, not in this day and age; This isn't 1933. Not only have we been in 2 botched wars, which have cost us a few TRILLION, but we lost even more from the Pentagon the day before 9/11.
The military-industrial complex may say that yet another war will boost the U.S. economy; they know otherwise. And that holds true for every other major nation as well.

In fact, the world crime network in general knows that their efforts are slowly coming to naught; so this WW3 fearmongering[which unlike now, had some real viability up until the end of the '80s] is just one thing their hired shills, agents, and willing liars are doing; it's a DISTRACTION, nothing more.

Even Beijing can't afford to lose much of it's population to bombs, let alone Moscow or Washington. Pretty much every world leader knows what's at stake.

In any case, there is one thing we may need to be sincerely worried about: rogue military brass, especially ones with submarines or missile silos in their command.

I think this just about sums up the phony, manufactured war in Libya. Revolution against Gaddaffi, what revolution?

Translation of speech

Translation of Gaddafi's speech:

translation by Karim Budabuss:
The leader is talking now. He is saying that this is a historical day, and he is challenging Sarkozy, Cameron and Obama to switch on their TVs and watch the crowds and he is saying that they will find out that they are delusional because they entered a war which they never win, he also says if you continue targeting our houses we can do the same coz Europe is not far away but he said lets not do this and watch the crowds , kids and women. They are not here because i ordered them to, it is they are free will. in this war you are not facing me you are facing these crowds. I am nothing, if you want peace with Libyans, it is up to the crowds. If you want any thing , negotiate with the crowds. The regime is not Gaddafi regime, it is a Libyan regime . Even if many got scared, defected and escaped, the Libyans will remain, and each coward will be replaced with a hero. Is it a democracy to bomb the civilans, we don't want a democracy which comes with bombs. The socialist Jamahyria will win, the real democracy which serves the people. I advice you to stop bombing, and stop becoming merecenaries for some rebels. The Libyans said their words, they marched, their tribes made it clear that the future is for Libyans, the oil is for Libya, Libya is ours. You are delusional, a group of traitors convinced you that Libya is easy to get, you hired mercenaries , propaganda, sychological war all that didn't allow you to make any progress on the ground. Turn on ur TVs and watch the longest Libyan flag 4.5 km, I didn't make this flag, people donated to make this flag. Those rebels are no different from who betrayed Libyan during the Italian invasion. Libyan people go in millions without weapons to liberate the regions under rebel control. You Libyan people are the only one who can finish this war with a victory. If they want to negotiate we welcome that, otherwise we are continuing and they are definitely losing no matter how many weapons they drop with parachute to the rebels. We will not betrayed our history nor our children and their future. The glory is for you brave Libyans, the struggle will continue.

The message to evil Nato is clear.

You know what's sad? Here in the U.S. (and most European countries) it would be impossible to get even 100,000 people to cheer on the government like that at a rally (and we have more citizens). At that rally there upwards of 800,000 people.

Why is that sad? In fact, it's a good thing for us..........not so good for the Libyans; Gaddafi is a dictator and pretty much everybody who hasn't been duped or been made a useful idiot knows that.

If anything at all, I am now starting to come to the conclusion that the intervention in Libya, like the original war against the Taliban[started under Clinton, btw!], was almost undoubtedly just in its original intentions, but could very well be badly botched any day now, perhaps even intentionally.

Countdown to Invasion; Libya's Neighborhoods Prepare for NATO's Boots

www.activistpost.com...

People from 18-65 are being armed and trained to repel the NATO invasion and it looks like they are going to defend their neighborhoods however they can.

Tripoli’s 3,200 neighborhoods, independently of the Libyan Armed Forces, are intensively preparing for the possibility that NATO forces or those they are seen as increasingly arming and directing, might invade the cosmopolitan greater Tripoli area during the coming weeks or months.

Nobody said Gaddafi was an angel, but it's the people who believe in the Libyan revolution who have been duped, not to mention how completely ignorant you are considering the evidence is staring you all in the face and you still refuse to see it.

Over 1 million people came out recently in support of Gaddafi, considerably more than the so called phony revolution.

Funny how there's no mention of this on our TV's here in the UK, just more lies of Gaddafi supposedly threatening Europe, which is more Western media spin & lies.

You'll have to watch this video on youtube, You have to laugh at the CNN reportor whose trying to make out this is an anti Gadaffi protest, when they are shouting America out and holding up pictures of Gadaffi and chanting his name.

More supporters of Gaddafi on the streets of Benghazi
