Co-Dependent Addiction (Short Poem)

Wanted to share this poem and see what you guys think . I understand this poem is dark. Would love to hear your interpretations.

CO-DEPENDENT ADDICTION
Eagerly awaiting - though the voice eludes me
I shrink behind the massive wall.
Cautiously watching though anxious to hear,
At anytime now.. ready to fall

Strength nil - there is no control
No escape from the entangling web,
Consistantly hanging half vice-gripped
Constantly the heart beat continues to rev.

Co-dependent cycle continuation...
Addiction stronghold tho content to be there,
Seeming never the recipient of necessity
Supplications oftentime rare.

Keeping company with myself .. cowering..
Inside this aching shell,
Escaping reality in it's entirity,
Never knowing what befell.
