Sorry friend you can't just come on here and say this is what I am without providing some proof. We have had people come in here claiming to be NASA insiders, government insiders, and etc. So you'll have to forgive me if I don't believe everything you say. Of course I do believe the part that MSM does filter out a lot of content not only for ratings but I think because of politics and bias views because of the background of the owners.

You have a few type of people who hold an ideological view against their peoples enemy. In example, a Jewish media mogul isn't going to report a negative view against his people because he would be hated in his community.

But welcome to ATS.

Yes I am and yes, we heard a lot about the story too. Later being recovered over and over in real life CSI style docos, of which I try not to watch too often.
As Australians like to shadow America in many ways, our own ‘little girl beauty pageants’ were scrutinized too.
I recall they accused at various stages, the mother, the father, the brother (who was quite young himself) and a family friend. It was very tragic.
Bad news always affects us when it’s close to our own situations, children the same age etc., I can imagine the emotional circus you went through being right there and sympathise genuinely.

Thank you for responding

Anyone can spread disinfo, they don't have to work for the MSM.

To Forevever, and all of those on ATS,
I will endeavor to respond to every question posted in this thread, although I do have a job, a family, and other obligations, I will do my best to answer each and every one of you. I'm just one man, and since I'm a slow typist, it may take longer than you want. I thought I would start with this post for now as it represents something I have learned through my welcome to the ATS community.

Forevever, you bring up an excellent point for those on ATS to consider. Maybe not even so much ATS itself, as it is just a forum for discussing things posted by other users of the site, but for all of the conspiracy theorists in general. (I must admit that I tend to fall into that category as well)

Many threads start with information gathered from "other" sources, just watch the "New Topics" tab for a while and you will know what I mean. You will see posts quoting the mainstream media, the alternative media, 1st hand accounts, and I think I even saw one that quoted direct communications with the time traveling ghost of David Icke or was it John Titor?

I must admit that I never fully understood the level of distrust that many here feel, but more importantly I never thought that the sensationalism I have witnessed in the MSM could ever be exceeded....I was wrong. Some of you post things that make what I've seen look like an embellished story of a 4 year old playing superman and jumping off his bed with a pillow case tied around his neck as a cape! BREAKING NEWS!!! We have just discovered that Superman is in-fact..Real!! We now take you live to the scene....

Some on ATS have no problem believing info they see posted on other web sites. Surely if it came from Alex Jones it must be true... wait a minute.... someone just told me that Alex Jones is a CIA dis-information agent! Holy Crap!... What or who do I believe now! I have seen posting after posting of information that one person deems credible, only to be trashed by someone else that thinks it's bunk!

I know, I know... I can can hear what some of you are thinking..."Ha! You just proved our argument against you! YOU FOOL!"... "We now know that you are a hoax, or a dis-info agent, or "on assignment", or writing a book, or working for TPTB!"

I guess that's the nature of a public forum like ATS, and maybe that's the way it should be. I just think that there may be some of you that might need to move out of your parent's basement and experience "real" life instead of reading about it here, or any other web site. Your real life insight would be an added asset to those of us seeking truth, and isn't that ultimately why we are all here? "Deny Ignorance", right? That is why I came here.

I only offer to share what I know, while I try to protect the anonymity of my employer, family, and myself. If you choose not to believe me then that's your right. I just hope that each of you takes a long hard look in the mirror before you start making accusations against someone on ATS.

With all of that said, I will now try and focus on the task at hand... replying to all the questions, and sharing what I know. Please give me a chance to respond.

TVTEXAN

***ETA*** - I took me a while to figure out what ETA meant, but I am trying to figure out all the lingo and the best way to respond to each post. I like to post the original question before I respond, but I find myself opening two windows, and then trying to copy and paste. Is that how it is, or is there an easier way? Is there a respond to all button somewhere? That would really help as many questions are repetative.

Welcome to this forum. I hope you have not been too discouraged by some of the responses. I look forward to seeing you post here in the future.

It is refreshing to see someone who is on the inside of the MSM here to share with us.

I think people tend to think of cover ups and conspiracies in these over-simplified ways - as if a reporter is given directions to cover up a conspiracy - haha, it doesn't go like that. There are agendas why high up that are then put into place with normal, typical means ... like ratings, as you say.

I have never seen a reporter or "grunt" given a directive to cover-up a story or conspiracy.
What I have seen is a reporter or producer work their ass off on a story, only to have that story pulled at the last minute.

This actually happens all the time, and in and of itself is no conspiracy. Ratings are ratings, and if it don't sound like a story that can garner interest it will be killed. What I have seen many times is a story that is killed by a phone call from someone outside. Stories, investigations, or reports that we spent hours to verify that were killed at the last minute.

I didn't understand what was going on at first as a Noobie to the industry, as time progressed I saw and overheard phone calls that made me believe that something else was going on.

I don't think it's any secret that governments (national, state, local) have tremendous influence on the mainstream media, but when XXX from the Mayor's office or XXX from the Governor's calls, they have the leverage to "ask" that a story not run.

I'll do you one better than that! I have heard conversations between an advertising agency that represented a nationally known supplier of goods from China politely ask that we not run the story about the child workers in China until we had a chance to review all of our "facts". Now you can claim that there is no conspiracy there, and maybe you are right. All I know is that the story didn't air. Actually it did air at a later date, but it wasn't the story we had submitted months before.

Is there a conspiracy? What would you have thought?
I know what I thought.

Thank you for giving us your honest opinion as an insider. I know there are many who appreciate what you have to offer as far as first hand experience, and I'm sure you need a place where you can safely get things off your chest, so to speak.

It has been very interesting reading about what it is like to work in the MSM. Thank you for starting this thread, as I have enjoyed reading about your experiences.

I will be looking forward to reading more.

Thanks.
I didn't realize until now that I was doing exactly that.
I do have many things that I need to "get off my chest".
Guilt is a terrible thing to live with.

Thoughts and Prayers accepted!

There is a post reply button right at the bottom of every page. That may be what you are looking for. Not sure if that replies to the OP or just puts a new reply in the bottom though. I'm newish at this too.

Hey, thanks for coming to share your experiences with us. I've been following the thread for a few days now and am finding it all very insightful, though of course, you've just confirmed suspicions I already had about your trade.

Please don't feel put off by the skeptics (not that there's anything wrong with skepticism, but some in this thread are just being down-right rude). I, for one, believe you and can't really say I'm paranoid enough to believe that you have some ulterior motive here.

I mean... telling us about the corruption and the lies that go on within the MSM... you blatant disinfo agent, you!

This guy is from Texas. Unless he's been based in NY, Washington, London, Cairo, or some other lofty world capitol he can't really say he's worked for the MSM.
Here's the deal folks, the MSM is as inept as the feds at conspiracy making. In every major newsroom in this country (Washington, NYC, Atlanta (CNN), maybe Chicago, maybe L.A.) where the decisions are made it's about two things only...
1. getting advertising (and hopefully lowering your demo)
2. Not getting you parent corporation sued (watch 'the insider' and read about the ABC News Food Lion case).
The fact is, every piece of news that you see is based upon the need to keep viewers watching that's why we tip towards news porn of any kind (celebrity, weather, etc etc.) That's why you saw pieces for weeks on Charlie Sheen and the marriage of two members of an aristocratic family based in London.
There's no conspiracy... there's only money... you want to know the true agenda.... for EVERYTHING! Follow the money... that is all.
From a real MSM insider.

I don't even own a TV. I gave it up around 06 and never looked back, and to tell you the truth, when I go to the VA clinic for my monthly testing, the tv's in the lobby are friggin annoying. The only way I get my news is 1 shortwave, 2 NPR (knowing its liberal leaning), and 3 the BBC, and finally the Moscow Times. I know these are influenced as well but by sifting all the news and spin, I think I have been able to gleen actual truthfull news. You know the perception is that 'people are stupid' and while there are a few mouth breathers or stoners, the majority are genuinely concerned and active. But as I said, the 'people are stupid' thing is NOT true, rather it's the NEWS and media that are 'STUPID', but go on thinking it's the citizen thats a dolt, It keeps you out of the real truths way.

Welcome aboard,

I would be interested if you can recollect which stories have been scrapped for no apparent reason and more so for the stories that have been grossly distorted to convey a completely different view.

I know you must have been involved in countless stories but here's hoping afew stuck in your head.

Peace

Welcome, and I would like to thank you for "defecting" from the "them" and becoming one of "us". The only thing i would like to address in your post is the guilt, let it go! You have a family to feed, and had jobs you had to keep. We all have had to do things that rub us the wrong way late at night. I do hope ATS is able to offer you the medium you need to help us all know the game that is being played.

Blessings!
