NONE OF THAT LAND BELONGED TO THE JEWS BEFORE THE BRITISH MANDATE. YOU FOOL.

The British mandate came into effect in 1920.. 60 years earlier, Russian Jews established some 30 little farming towns (developing and making use of the land) in western Israel, the Gaililee and Judea/Samaria (the so called 'westbank').

Read a book.

dontreally you I can't believe you don't really realize (pun intended) that by using religion to argue against international law you are only harming the position of the Zionist ideology in the face of the international community. You attempt to use religous scripture to bypass international law. Well sir, religion has no credence in the legal sphere. Please try take your argument, and your religious documentation to the ICC and see how fast you get laughed out of court.

I am not stating that religion is wrong(I have Jewish, Muslim and Christian freinds). I am not saying that when one dictates their own morals on the basis of religion in regards to moral activity (not law) they are wrong, as long as they don't force moral onto anyone else. I am neither advocating homosexuality, authoritarianism or communism as you seem to imply. I am simply stating that religion has no credence in the 21st century. If it did we would be seeing a return to the middle ages and crusades.

I do not claim international law is perfect, but I do believe it is necassary. I personally am critical of the UN more often than not, but I recognize that we need an international orginization that goes beyond the state, in order to provide dialogue between nations and laws which will attempt to maintain civility when states are dealing with states, wether it be conflict, security, trade an so forth. I understand that any state body in the UN will attempt to use these laws to it's advantage and attempt to break these laws when possible if it suits them. But non-the-less the laws exist and as Israel is a member of the UN since May 1949, it must adhere to the UN charter. Upon multiple occasions the fact that acqusition of territory through war is inadmissable, has passed through the security council, even with the U.S agreeing. This goes for both the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights. (The Security Council has passed multiple resolutions in conflict with Israel on these matters). Thus, once again, if you can show me how religion has any binding affects on international law, then I shall refrain from using international law as my justification to my opposition of the illegal acquisition of territory Israel is engaged in.

What's so wrong with soccer by the way? Soccer is my religion and I would gladly play soccer on the Temple Mount, if one had a ball. Does this make the Temple Mount my Holy site?

Its a mighty scary thought though.

Only the religious, and one with a very deeply mystical/emotional awareness of G-d can achieve that level of trust and faith in G-d. This is why it is so important for Israelis to become more religious (which has been happening) or in the case of the Haredim, growing in population numbers to eventually take control of the country. I see this scenario no more then 10 years away. By that time, the religious would have taken control of the state founded by irreligious secular Jews; a suprising turn around im sure, and the secular will either emigrate; or in a worst case scenario, fight the new government.

This is what i see happening to Israel. This is why Israel is currently systematically killing Rabbis (a vast majority of whom have died in car crashes in the last few years; it is known that a common way to kill someone without getting in trouble is so mess with their brakes, or some other part that results in a car accident) and persecuting religious Jews. I just hope there isnt a civil war between their ascendance and eventual take over of Israel government.

Also, and i happen to take an interest in this, Israel will undergo a constitional makeover. It wont go straight (atleast i think it would be wise not to) into a theocratic government. I think Muslims and Christians will be accorded rights, (more then either have given the Jews) but Israel will identify itself more as the Jewish state, and will regard Judaism as the nations religion. In this scenario Israel will resemble more of what Herzl initially intended; a state connected to its religious and historical foundations (something the weizman, Labor crowd excized from the Israeli spirit. Eliad is an example of it) then what Rabbi Meir Kahane intended; which is a full blown theocratic state.

Even though Kahane might infact be justified, on a religious basis (in terms of Rabbinic thought), the world would probably regard such a dramatic change in Israels government as a negative, and will then start a propaganda campaign of misrepresenting what this means; palestinians will be further victimized, and Jews transformed into modern nazis (an irony im sure all nihilists/satirists would enjoy).

Mods a preposition. Move this thread to Origins and Creationism or Conspiracies in Religion. This has no inherent value in the discussion of Israeli foreign policy, Israel-Palestine of the Middle East. It is laced with religous prophecy and predictions. Never have I before seen such a group of zealots wishing for the murder of Arabs and the elavation of Jewish racial superiority at one time expressing their Nazi viewpoints (ironic) in the Middle East discusion forum. And trust me I have seen alot of that from both sides on here, in this forum.

@dontreally, instead of throwing accusation of socialism in the face of the UN, actually back your argument with concrete proof.

They probably want it removed because people are using it to attack their religion. I saw children kicking a ball in a courtyard and a family enjoying a meal under the shade of a tree. I think the lord would be fine with that. If they all grabbed cameras and started taking pictures of Jews with their asses aimed toward Mecca just to start trouble it would probably upset him.

My I make an observation. On this thread I see a bunch of zealots, advocating the murded of Arabs, non-Jews, Gentiles and anyone opposed to Zionism and critical of Israel foreign policy. They use religion as the basis to justify these barbaric claims. However the most ironic thing is, that these same zealots, use the violent passages in the Koran to demonize the Muslims and Islam. Hypocrits.
