I disagree, if it is identified it is no longer un-identified.

But if you didn't know it at the beginning, yes, it was not a hoax, and no it shouldn't go in the hoax bin, instead it should be moved somewhere else, maybe the "Solved" or something similar (maybe "Identified as being nothing unusual").

WoW, star because you actually showed me a good point that i had not really considered, yet i do not completely agree, i dont really let it effect me when i get "Duped" by a hoax, i appreciate it in a way because that person has taught me a lesson, i didnt realise i suppose that some ATS members may feel "Burned" due to a hoax, but like the guy who said that there were too many "Yes men" in the world, look out your window, go into any mainstream forum on the net, one about cars, or celebs and there you will find the people who have really been burned, people who have really been "Duped" by a false reality of how things really work and what is really important. ATS should stand out like a beacon of light, and be a stage to debunk the debunkers, not breed them !!

Ha, well I'm the same guy that made the yes men comment, actually, but I think you may have misunderstood my meaning. By 'yes men' I mean those who don't question, one way or another. What makes ATS worth visiting, for me at least, is because of the quest for truth (though it might not be presented in the politest of ways at times, I admit.)

I don't know where you stand on 9/11, for example, but if you doubt the official story then what you're doing is basically saying that someone pulled off a massive hoax (meaning an act intended to deceive or trick). If you counter the official story, then you're technically trying to debunk that implied deception.

Likewise, if you refute a claim made by someone that one of the planes was a hologram, missile, or whatnot, then you're attempting to debunk that theory. It can work both ways, you see.

As for me, I try my best to follow Socrates' "I don't know jack and never will" philosophy. Let's me have some fun entertaining possibilities without being led too far astray from wherever the truth might be.

i doubt it tbh, i make a post on here every couple of months or so, i doubt ill get known as the guy who hates ATS,

im just using this fantastic medium to hit back at the many a mug who, slate peoples grammar, debunk posts with no actual proof to the contrary and just have little digs at people because they dont agree with them (Nor do they have a valid point of their own, If you read some of the posts in the thread, you'll see im quite willing to give credit where credits due)

TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU,

my experience has been very similar, from coming to this site and being very happy for it, to experiencing it over time that it is not all its cracked up to be, i to have felt to over censorship

i once had a post removed points deducted because i posted "theres already another thread about this, " including a link to the other thread


now tell me how many times do you see other people make that exact same post in threads and they dont get the punishment esq points deduction,

that is but one example, i had another post removed just for talking about this exact same topic, i was told in pm from mod that it 'stokes flames and is not what ats wants'
sure sounds like censorship to me,

so for fear of 'stoking flames' i'll stop hear rather then report the numerous other censorship experiences ive had on this site,

its to the point now that every time i see a post with the ''off topic' banner in it, i immediately assume that post probably just hit on the truth more than they wanted, i do this only because experience has taught me its more often true then the latter


and feeling that same fear of over controlling censoring powers of ats, i feel leary just to post this! i also feel its likely this thread will be removed,

that is not openminded discussion to remove this thread, it is censorship nothing should ever be censored unless legaly required, anything else is NOT free communication/discussion

If a thread is going to be closed, deleted or declared a hoax it should be put in a special forum where the COMMUNITY can vote on the validity of such actions.

no im not a hypocrite and my post wasn't directed at you, i was directing it at everyone really, and the various complaints etc that get posted on the board. and i did read your post and took your points in as i said in there you have some pretty valid points. i will reiterate....i wasnt directing it at you but at everyone who complains about the things i listed.
