US and Russina Efforts in Plasma Stealth

Again from AWST August 9th, 2004:

Both the US and Russia continue to work on Plasma fields and appying them to aircraft.

However, in addition to stealth, it seems that a new direction has opened up. They are looking at the fields as a way to mitigate the aerodynamic forces created by high mach speed.

Also several years ago according to the report US Satelites aparently caught several Soviet era aircraft that were displaying brightly lit fields. They now believe these were early experiemnts in this technology.

Russia also designed a cruise missile for plasma stealth from the ground up. The 3M-25 Meteorit AS-X-19 was canceled in the 1990's

Does anyone know what affects Plasma would have on the drag or any other factor when you get up in the Mach 2+ zone? The space shuttle gets covered by plasma when it reenters that is why Huston always has a black out time. The US is also working on ionizing the leading edges of aircraft�s, some say the B-2 has this but there is no credible source to back that up.
