Interesting developments in the whole Mid-East/WW3 battlefield emerging.

Turkey to Host NATO Ground Forces

Turkey has agreed that NATO can turn its airbase in Turkey into a base for ground operations into Syria.

The country will become the main base in the area for the US-led military alliance’s ground forces.

NATO’s Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has said the alliance will transfer the bulk of its ground forces from a military base in the city of Heidelberg in southwestern Germany.

Other troops will arrive from Spain to be placed at the Izmir Air Station in western Turkey, which will now become the centre for ground troops.

Turkey has recently toughened its opinion on neighbouring Syria, where unprecedented civilian unrest has led to the deaths of many people.

Ankara has already created its own military bases close to the common border with Syria.

Sounds like a formidable amount of troops/weaponary si going to be transffered to Turkey.

Everyone knows this area is a powder keg about to explode....Turkey's position upto now has been questionable given its relationship with Israel as of late but this report pretty much confirms two major things -

1) That Turkey is on the side of NATO/USA

2) That there will be another major front emergin thanks to the Nobel Peace Prize President - Obama

There was also reports today that Syrian troops are amassing on the border with Turkey......wouldn't suirprise me if Syria attacked first.

Prepare for conscription.

In December 2009 an agreement was made between Hezbollah in Lebanon and the governments of Iran and Syria which stated should any of them be attacked by foreign forces then all must respond to protect and defend each other. Hezbollah at the time was just a political and paramiltary faction in Lebanon, now it is the official leader of government in the nation. An attack upon Syria would result in one of two things, a) Iran and Hezbollah back down from their prior agreement or, b) we have a full blown war with Syria, Lebanon and Iran to add onto our current military engagements in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, and Iraq.

Should the worst case scenario occur, full scale war with those three nations, then that would mean an outright regional war. It would not constitute a world war because it would be confined to Central Asia, Middle East, and North Africa. But should any other major global players outside of that region step in like China, Russia or India, or even medium-sized global players like Venezuela or North Korea, then we could see a world war.
