NHK reporting quake was 20 kilometers deep, 67 miles offshore Iwaki Prefecture....how long would it take to arrive if there is one?

An hour or less?

I'm listening to the live NHK news.

They are warning people to get to high ground just in case.

Their government agency responsible for such things issued the advisory.

It could be a glitch again but I'll leave this in case it isn't. Two different times and two different depths.

Well...in all honesty, this sort of earthquake is to be expected. 6.7 is about 200 times less powerful than the big one of March 11 (in addition to being at about the same location), and many of this sort have occurred since then. It's hardly anything to get excited about.

Funny, I check USGS whenever I use my PC and when I first saw the EQ in Japan it was showing 5.2 km deep (yes that is a five point two). You are now saying 20km deep. I just checked again and now it is 32km deep. I am starting to wonder whether or not to trust usgs in their depth "predictions"

ONE 6.7, not two. If you click on the link and click 'see last quake' it will take you back to the one before.

NHK Japan is showing a warning with the effected area of coastline - far to the north of where the March tsunami hit. Waves of 0.5 metres expected. I dont think it has hit yet. Ill go back to the news now.

Quake not so bad in Tokyo, just woke us up.
