Matthew 11:11-15 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
11 Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist! Yet the one who is [a]least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men [c]take it by force. 13 For all the prophets and the Law prophesied until John. 14 And if you are willing to accept it, John himself is Elijah who [d]was to come. 15 He who has ears to hear, [e]let him hear

bible.cc... Elijah in the mountain
and I cannot find any info where Jesus claimed that John was Elijah.
In order for you to understand the Bible you have to escape the "CHURCH BELIEF" mindsetedit on 23-7-2011 by Jordan River because: (no reason given)
I don't see what point your trying to make about Elijah. More importantly, what does the return of Elijah have to do with the return of Christ? These are two separate events.
And what scripture do you have to support that Christ will return in the flesh and walk among us? I don't see this anywhere in scripture.
I don't follow any church belief, I read the scriptures as they were written and let the Spirit guide me, not man.
Jesus told the discples that he will come back. Coming back as the disciples teacher also means that Jesus will become physical. God can do anything he wants.
The return of Elijah/John is very important to the return of Christ. Christ needed a road back then, and christ needs a road again. The road= Elijah/John

I still do not see any scripture that confirms that Christ will return in the flesh. While I agree that God can do whatever he wants, I don't agree that we should be making false claims about the way Christ returns. Christ clearly stated that he is coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Not once did He or any of his followers preach anything different.
Now it is true that there will be two witness at the end (Revelation 11:2), but the names of those witnesses can not be confirmed by scripture.
IMO there is no scriptural evidence to support your theory that Christ will return in the flesh. If you can point to some scripture to support this I would be more than glad to see it.
- Elijah and Moses have already appeared together as witnesses at the Mount of Transfiguration.
Revelation 11:3-15 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
3 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. 5 And if anyone wants to harm them, fire flows out of their mouth and devours their enemies; so if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this way. 6 These have the power to shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during the days of their prophesying; and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire. 7 When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which [a]mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. 9 Those from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and [c]will not permit their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. 10 And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. 11 But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them. 12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” Then they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them. 13 And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; [d]seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. 14 The second woe is past; behold, the third woe is coming quickly.

Revelation 19:12-20 (New American Standard Bible)
12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will [a]rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” " 17 Then I saw [c]an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, “Come, assemble for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of [d]commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free men and slaves, and small and great.” 19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
This how you will know him on his return. i'm surprised at how many people will say any thing different, the bible states this is what he will look like when he returns.

If we believe in the same Christ then we are truly brothers. I'm interested in where you have gotten the idea that Christ will come in the flesh. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, it's an honest question. Have you learned this from sources outside the Bible? If so, where? I would like to study this idea in greater detail and then draw my own conclusion. I'm an Apologetic, so I pretty much study everything to see how it matches up.

Jesus Christ's return will be when everyone realizes THEY are Jesus Christ.
The Age of Aquarius....when we will Judge the living and dead....who screwed the world up for us with pollution, greed, financial robbery, and even destroyed the Human DNA.
WE will be the Judges. For if we don't do it now....there are a few men on Earth with the technology for THEM to become God's and do their own Judging...deciding who lives and who dies.
That's the Great Battle. Right now humankind is losing.
