Although it appears on the surface a foolish idea the fact is that people of like minds like to associate with each other. And many here appear to be wondering what could possibly go on in there. You could devote an entire year or more just to trying to dispel the many misunderstandings about atheism and atheists. This thread is already chock full of them.

They would do better to form logic, reasoning and philosophy clubs. Better than turning atheism into some kind of pseudo religion.

Then religious people would come to those meetings and just start quoting the Bible as logic and reasoning. That's why they call it atheist club, so they don't have to constantly fight against religious beliefs while trying to discuss those topics.

Atheism: Just look around you, science can explain absolutely everything around you. Accept that all of this can and does exist without a creator.

As someone else said, this is not atheism in any way. You seem to be conflating disbelief in deities with the explanatory power of science.

Also, invoking a creator for things we don't understand has absolutely no explanatory power whatsoever. Following any religion on that premise is errant.

Well the part about accepting that everything exists without a creator is true, but it is also true that atheism has nothing to do with science.

Would you honestly get people quoting the Bible as logic and reasoning in those meetings? I don't see why anyone would.
