remember those waivers that folks were gonna use
to opt out of Obamacare ???

They are coming to a screeching halt in September !!!

Officials announced Friday that all applications for new waivers and renewals of existing ones have to be in by Sept. 22.

That would remove a potential political distraction in the 2012 elections.

www.msnbc.msn.com...

Oh how nice, kind of reminds me of
the laws they used back in the old days
to keep blacks from voting by making
it harder to get registered.

Same deal here, you will be stuck
having to Opt into Obamacare if you
do not have a waiver.

Don't have Obamacare Insurance???
Go to jail and a $100.00 a day fine.

Um .... obama isn't ending Obamacare waivers.
What is says is that new waivers have to be in by a certain date.
Renewals of the old ones too.
That's not 'ending' waivers. Or did I read that wrong?

There is NO WAY that Obama would end waiver-gate to his political buds. The end of McDonalds waivers would probably mean an end to McDonalds 'bundling' for Obama for 2012. Ditto the teachers unions. etc etc ...

In order for the "waiver" to have any validity, the legislation itself would have to have some sort of lawful jurisdiction over those applying for the "waiver". However, there is nothing unlawful, nor even illegal, about applying for a waiver even if you are not subject to the legislation. Of course, once you do this, now you are subject to the legislation. A person can not be "waived" from liability if they are not liable to begin with.

they did NOT give a date for re-starting the waivers.

If you stop them with no plans to re-start them,
isn't that ending it ???

They won't be needed when the law goes into full effect in 2014, because taxpayer-subsidized insurance will be broadly available.

I just wanted to point this out to any Progressives that accidentally fall into this thread. They have a habit of calling it "free healthcare", and I just needed to make sure they saw that even a left-leaning news site knows that it's BS.
