Man Robs Bank For $1 To Get Free Jail Healthcare

Popular rapper JadaKiss once said in a song "I know people who go to jail just to get their teeth fixed". What a sad state of mind to have. Jail/Prison is pain and punishment. People who say you get three meals obviously have never seen or eaten these "meals". Living in a CELL smaller than most bathrooms with one or two strange men, no privacy, told what to do and when you can do it. Strip searches, violence, male on male rape. No fresh air, no amenities, nothing but pain. To sign up for this just for healthcare is ludicrous!!

Imagine spending three years under these circumstances in exchange for a couple of appointments with a doctor.

Homeless people do this in Canada. They steal something or break in a store to get arrested to get to jail during winter time. Get free food and free shelter.

I don't know why more homeless people do this... when you are hungry and have nowhere to go... do this... at least you'll have food and shelter.

When you are free you at least have an opportunity to do something with yourself. You can even "luck up" and find some money, get a job or meet the "right" person. In jail you have NO opportunities, everyday is just waisted time spent waiting on your release. You are alive but yet dead at the same time.

Like I stated earlier, there is no such thing as freedom anymore ... in or out of jail. You can pay for freedom ... kind of. You have to pay your way no matter where you go or what you want to do and if you don't pay, by god you will go to jail!

People were getting into trouble for feeding homeless people
people were getting into trouble for selling lemonade
people get in trouble for this so called "J- walking"
You get in trouble for not paying for water
You get in trouble for not paying for food..

see where I'm going here? the list can go on and on and on ...

So basically you have to pay to live or you can die in a corner for all they care, even if you tried to work to live on your own, they would want money off of you or it's straight to prison for your ass!

I've asked this before on ATS, what can we do short of revolting? It seems we are too far gone from "the good ole days". In a way martial law has already been implemented.

Verone may have a little problem with his plan. Because he only demanded one dollar and didn't have a weapon police charged him not with bank robbery, but larceny, so he might not get as much time in the slammer as he was hoping for.

Don't you understand we have to eliminate all of these things or we risk the danger of becoming a socialist society. Would you want to live in a country where everyone is treated equally? This is something the elite does not want and what the elite want the elite gets.

We can easily feed, clothe and give medical and housing to everyone the only thing stopping it is money and the government.

I wonder what you Europeans and those in countries with public health care think of this.

I know my sister just got out of the hospital after having a preemie and the total bill for her and her child for 11 weeks in the hospital and surgery and a couple blood transfusions came out to around $300,000.00 and she had to pay about $4,500 out of her pocket. Did I mention she also has Health Insurance and pays $800.00/month to cover herself and her family?

It would have been cheaper if she was in jail too...

With all that has been said in this thread why would anyone oppose the so called "ObamaCare"? Healthcare in America is a CRISIS.

This guy is an idiot. All he had to do was go to the hospital and he would have received care.

Hospitals can't turn away patients who cannot pay.

That only applies to the emergency room. He didn't need the emergency room, he needed surgery, medicine and therapy.

He couldn't have gone to a free clinic? Hell, most regular hospitals would still probably treat him for free for that even if he couldn't afford to pay.

If you need surgery you can't pay for and the first idea that pops into your head about how to get that surgery is by robbing a bank, you rightfully deserve to be called an idiot.

That's why America should leave the world(except South Korea) so that others could man up their own defense instead of waiting for America to bail them out. In Libya, Europe asked us to redeploy our warplanes due to the fact they run out of bombs and we gladly rejected.

Then the world man up their own defense and we should spend so much on our own welfare. Like Europe for example brags about their pensions and healthcare, but if they had to create a military capable of defending itself from the most realistic threats, I'm afraid that they're going to have to make a lot of sacrifices, including health and pension. We've been making our sacrifices in blood, in wealth, and in the insults we get from every side.
