Greetings from the UK!

I read a lot on ATS, about whether or not Obama is eligible to be president. Whilst reading these threads, I notice a lot of posts referring to how Obama has ''Screwed up your country''.

Forgive me for not being clued up on these issues, we don't hear much over the pond. But I was wondering if you would be able to explain, or list, the things Obama has done to incite such a reaction from the citizens of America.

Thanks in advance

Hello and nice to meet you.

People will say that he's not only continued the wars of the previous administration but started new ones at a time in which our economy cannot afford it as well as wonder if they are necessary.

People will say that his health care bill is a horrible idea and will further bankrupt our country while providing poorer care.

People's biggest problem I believe is his inability to pull us out of our economic woes or fix unemployment or to basically provide a solution to our horrible economy.

Other's will go into further things such as conspiracy ideas and such but none of those can really be validated however the above points are enough reason for people to be upset. I don't think he's an evil man and I do think if he knew what to do he would take that action.

I feel he's just a poor president and that will be his legacy so future children when they read about him all they will know was that he was our first African American President and nothing more.

The corruption of our government is so wide spread you can't really point fingers to any one person. I know people like to say "Oh its Bush's fault" or "Obama's destroying our country" but that's because people like to have a clear answer as to why and how. What's easier than a name?

While I don't uphold that Obama is a genuine and honest guy, he's not the only one at fault here. If anything, he's a worse president for not doing anything on his own accord. I'm insisting he's a spineless puppet manipulated by the same organizations that have manipulated prior presidents and politicians.

We'd like to think if we could just get a "good" president in office, everything would change for the better but at this point, I cannot see that being the case. Maybe it could slow down our spiral into the flames but we really need to start REALLY considering anyone vote for, not just the president. Which in itself would be a time consuming process and virtually impossible, you never really know a person until you see their actions.

Thanks for your reply,

Did Obama make the usual promise of ''I'll end the war and bring our troops home''?

I can understand about starting new wars when a country is supposed to be financially crippled. The same can be said in England. We are going through tough expense cuts, but at the same time we are also pushing our noses into other countries.

What is this health care bill you speak of?

In England we have the National Health service (NHS) which basically provides free health care for everyone. Is Obamas health care bill along those lines ?

Thanks again

"Over the pond" hahah haven't heard that phrase since I was in U.K., your expressions make me laugh (in a nice way!).

I'm not a U.S.A. originator or dweller, but I been there a bit and I think the main problem is the same with most other Presidents or any major government officials for that matter, in that they make a lot of election promises that they can't (or won't) actually keep.

Personally I think U.S. people are a little spoiled.... at least they have the chance at democracy, and if he's not doing so good job they can not elect him next time. So you'll hear a lot of complaints but little action, because I think many people there feel powerless to rise up in revolution due to it being a police state, which is unfortunate. I could be wrong, but that was impression I gained as an outsider visiting U.S. People want change, but their legal and political system is convoluted, and they're not sure in which direction to turn, which leads to dissent, and thus the adamant critique of Obama.

Yes he did say he would end the current wars and bring the troops home when he was running for office and the health care bill he pushed through our Congress is health care for all Americans similar to Britons. You could look it up if you want further details but it's a radical departure from our current system.

I suppose that is the hope with every election, based on the promises they feed. If it is true about leaders being puppets that are controlled, then I'm sure an assassination would take place if you ever did get a leader for the people

These are one of the things I mentioned people would bring up that have no evidence to support them so read these with caution

The actual facts about his Presidency leave him not looking very well from an historical standpoint however. It also appears that the republicans do not have anything else better to offer at the moment so Obama may very well get another term.

Time will tell.

I can understand, that a promise to bring troops home would be a massive deal to Americans. I can't believe someone can blatantly promise these things, only to do the complete opposite, and get away with it

YOu do realize that FREE health care is actually paid for by you - from your taxes? There is no such thing as FREE.

I'm sure he means paying for it at the moment of care out of pocket.

Don't need to troll him

Another problem with Obama is the people he kept around himself in his life. Alot of them are self proclaimed socialists and believe the bigger the government the better. Between Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers and all of the crooked politicians out the Chicago area, you can find the real Obama. You can pretty much see how this guy thinks by the company he keeps. Going back to the healthcare bill, the majority of Americans were screaming that we didn't want the government in control of our healthcare but both houses passed it and Obama signed it. So he really isn't for the people like he claimed while running.

I'm well aware thank you.

I was more referring to the fact that you won't get a ''fat'' bill when you need treatment that could cost £20,000 +

Nether-the-less thanks for the reply

He campaigned against the Iraq war. Now 2 years into his watch we're still in Iraq & Afghanistan, and starting new wars every other day it seems. Many people hated Bush the southern "idiot warmonger", got angry, and instead elected a liberal well-spoken black man who claimed to be anti-war. And now -- nothing has changed at all. That's a pretty damn depressing story.

It's like the people who pull the strings don't even care about appearances anymore. They're just getting blatant about it, and still people don't seem to care. That doesn't add up to me, so it makes me wonder if they know something we don't. Maybe we'll all be in death camps in a year, so our current opinion polls don't really matter to their plans.

Well he said a few things before he got into office....No more patriot act, no more lobbying, no more war, better healthcare better foreign policies. I bet I've left a fair few out.

He has failed to address the economic problem, he does not even aknowledge that the Federal Reserve is a huge problem for the freedom of the country, he has done little to end the far, in fact he is starting a new one right now! The healthcare system doesn't work, there is more lobbying than ever, unemployment has skyrocketed and the next chance he had he voted to extend the patriot act.

Forgive me if I got some things wrong, I don't live in America so I don't know all the exact details but in my eyes he has abysmally failed his people and I think when he was saying his Oath when he came into office he was busy thinking about how to decorate his office.

Because nobody can name a single thing he's done right.

His nationalized health care clearly isn't working. He nationalized the Banks when he bailed them out, and will continue to. He continues wars and creates new ones. Again, the economy is getting worse. People are outraged at TSA grope-downs. The Education system? clearly there isn't time for that. 40 million people on food stamps. Detroit is ... well we don't talk about Detroit anymore.

But hey, we still got Lebron James right?

The media continues to lie , distract people from the real issues, and support the slow, painful death of the constitution, people's rights, a free market and decent moral ethics.

Watch the "Obama Deception" on youtube, It really shows why Obama does the things he does and who he takes orders from...

But hey, the baseball game's on right? and we got some cheep beer to drown out the problems. Maybe some CIA coke if we need something stronger.
