I know some people and they don't believe in God but they'll use 'god' in their language followed by a four-letter word meaning 'cursed'.

It's like using the N-word. African-Americans will condemn anyone else for using it but they're free to use it anyway they want. Atheists don't want you to use it but they'll use it freely in their language. This has been my experience.

I don't get it.

State atheism was law in the USSR. Immediately after the revolution, all church property was seized and thousands of priests were killed. From 1917-1928 they targeted all faiths. In 1928 they formed the League of the Militant Godless, which functioned until 1941 as a militant atheist revolutionary guard.

This only changed after the Nazis invaded. The Nazis allowed churches to open back up in occupied territories. Stalin then began to back off on the Orthodox Church. 1943, the Russian Orthodox Church was reestablished.

The other religions were not tolerated. After the war the Orthodox church rapidly expanded, but this was ended by Kruschev, who weakened the church. Only after Kruschev, in 1964, did the USSR finally begin to allow some religious freedom. Protestants would still be persecuted until the 1980s.

NBC is just using the original 1892 version. I see no issue with it.

They also left out "One Nation". and "Indivisble". So it wasn't the original pledge. I guess we are many nations divided, according to NBC.

The word god is dead. It doesn't hold its spiritual value, especially in this updated version of the pledge of allegiance. These days, the word god to me is nothing but a tool for manipulation and people's misunderstanding. When you preach god and christ but internally are not christ-like, you are a hypocrite. Some of you all preach god but have never been one with yourself. Being one with yourself brings you the closest to 'god' in a metaphorical sense. Growing up on firm beliefs that were pushed on you clearly has had its effect, hasn't it? You guys go ape# if someone denounces the word god. When the word is nothing but a WORD! It only holds meaning to those who give it matter. Stop letting yourselves become so fundamentalistic over a word you were indoctrinated with and in my opinion, the majority of you have very little personal understanding of through experience.

Who cares if they didn't say it? It's golf.. its a sport. It's televised to entertain and distract you. To help you escape from your stressful mental environment that has been created and strategically implemented to dull your spirits. You believe you are free, yet you are still sitting there in your safe box still following the system that has caused so many people harm. If you believed something higher and more powerful was on your side, you wouldn't live in fear. Wouldn't you think, as an 'all loving god', this god would be understanding and compassionate? That the fear that is brought out by the religious idiocracy is there to keep you down and obeying to something that certainly isn't this 'all loving god', but to religious factions who emotionally and spiritually manipulate you off your true path and love.

This country was founded on blood, this country will end in blood. If its in the name of god, it's not the god you are thinking of.

Nothing can be done about it. Its not like we can pack Islam back up and send it to Mecca or send Christianity to Jerusalem. Its here, its done, and we have to deal practically with the realities of the present.

"One Nation Under God" IS part of the Pledge. .

And like it or not barry, the Declaration goes like This:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness...
Both should be repeated like they are legaly written.

Everyone has the freedom to think and make decisions as they wish.

If you don't like it, don't recite it.

Whether we want to believe it or not, faith is one of the ties that bind, it makes people one, and with a common goal,

Strip them of their faith and it will weaken the nation, Just more proof for me that the mass media has players behind the scenes that are pulling the strings, we have been infiltrated, our news media, government and schools.

The politically correct have a god, they just don't want you to believe they do.

They must tear down one belief system to install another.

Then when the government steps in and takes away the right to say "God", like it is some kind of dirty word you are like, "yea stick it to those dirty war starting Christians." But then when they filter "#" off of "Family Guy" you turn around and bitch about the FCC.

Since we can't say God anymore, think about if they started filtering out the word, "Evolution".

You all are nothing more than a mob mentality no better than the elite.

I agree with this, but the importance of separation of church and state remains. The problem isn't with God, but those that worship him. Many whom would love to see other religions and denominations suppressed and their own beliefs pushed through law.

You make a point I have tried to make before, TPTB are just using the PC mindset to further their agenda once they succeed in transforming the nation, the PC and their police will be shocked to find they are at the bottom of the totem pole, because the new religion will strip away all their rights they have fought for.

Mark my words, I see it, it is happening right before our very eyes if one is aware and has been following world events closely.

They don't even try to hide it any more.
