IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!!

Let's worry about the real # that affects the U.S.

Unemployment
Poverty
Incompetent Politicians
Rising Debt

The Pledge of Allegiance?

NOT #ING IMPORTANT!

Just another bull# Cold War construct.

Nice language there.

I think we are already worried about that stuff as well.

Worrying isn't going solve anything, Doing solves problems. They require action.

My posting, or yours for that matter, on an internet forum isn't going change anything. If my posts upsets you so much, I would advise taking a deep breath and maybe a break from the computer for a awhile. Go outside and get some air.

It's a pretty silly debate. If you like saying under God then do so... If not, then leave it out. Why does everyone feel the need to dictate what others do? I don't see much of a need to recite a pledge to a piece of fabric but if I do, I'll make sure to say "under gods" and omit "with liberty and justice for all" since that no longer applies.

Aaaawwwww, did all the religious zealots get upset when their god was failed to be mentioned in a sporting event. Wanna know something funny??? It was an event with a multinational field. AND IT WAS WON BY A NORTHERN IRISHMAN!!! How dare those Northern Irish win an American Golfing event!!!!!!

And you know what else? Who really gives a # that "under god" was cut out of it. I'm sure anyone in the event on the final day that wasn't American didn't. I'll put good money on it.

Such a shame that all the Christian Zealots finally realise there horse-# religion is finally going down the drain, as more people are actually becoming educated. 1 down, several more to go.......

I think it's garbage that it's part of the Pledge of Allegiance, but my bottom line is that it's still part of the Pledge of Allegiance, and they ought to apologize. I'm glad they did.

I wonder what Jesus would say about what is essentially a government sanctioned public prayer...

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Matthew 6:5-6

Since this site is all about evidence, show me some evidence that God exists. Then I'll proudly say, "ONE NATION UNDER GOD!!!!" Till then, I have the right to refrain from saying that BS.

You certainly do have the right to refrain. But do you have the right to suppress others from saying it?

Like I said, show me some evidence and you can say whatever you want. Until then, I don't think it's right to say, "ONE NATION UNDER GOD." Our nation isn't under god, if this nation was under God, we wouldn't have so many evil people ruling it!!!!! That's assuming he or she exists...

NBC shouldn't be forced to apologize for leaving it out...they should be applauded. The network does not have to recognize any god. It is their right if they decide to leave it out. If people feel offended by that they should turn the channel back to Fox News.

So it's politically correct to remove under god from the pledge of allegiance... but it's not politically correct to demand that "under god" be added to the pledge of allegiance so to not insult christians groups. Gee wiz.

NBC is a private company, they should be able to do whatever the hell they want. Apparently they're spineless for catering to offended christian groups. Really now.

You're dodging my question: Do you have the right to deny someone their 1st Amendment right ?

Interesting, there really seems to be a war against Christianity going on.

Is it the satanists? Is the rationalist, the nihilist? The Jew? Someone up there doesn't like Christianity that much.

wtf does "leftwing" have to do with atheism? why do we or should we be required to believe in god because you do? im voting ron paul, and last i checked he was a republican.

you're all hypocrites, you say atheists try to make god a bad word and aren't open minded yet you "good christians" like to slander everybodies beliefs that are different than yours.

sorry christians you lose, absence of god isn't what is destroying this country, or planet for that matter, corrupt government and greedy corporations are the cause.

funny to jump to not having god as the downfall of society. i love my life the way it is without having to decline my humanity

morals have nothing to do with the bible and were around before it was written by man.

one nation under the all mighty dollar, divisible with liberty and justice for none....especially if you go against god, you will burn in hell for eternity

I do believe it was the Knights of Columbus, in 1954, who rallied to have "under God" added to the pledge. Originally it was written (1855-1931) by a socialist pastor.

Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s

Paul would further state:

"Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Romans 13:1-7

Typical NBC ....

They are not sorry for doing it, they are sorry that they got caught (AGAIN!!) pandering to the far left crowd that they have as an audience. Their very far left wing agenda comes through again. How anyone can still stomach NBC and defend them as balanced or trustworthy is beyond me ....

"Under God" was not in the original pledge. It was added sometime in the 1950's. Is it really that big of a deal to you? Do you really think this country is "under God"?

Yeah, those wackos. The ones who cannot tolerate a belief system other than their empty, barren one.

Yeah, those crazy wackos who don't have a belief system. If you can't even get that fact straight, the rest of your post is irrelevant.

Don't say they "choose to keep an open mind to different possibilities", because they are very intolerant of other belief systems. Their model is Michael Newdow, a hollow man if I ever saw one.

You seem awfully intolerant of atheists. Way to lead by example, champ.
